Snakes don't get enough credit I dig your voice, you articulations, the way you make the lyrics come to life in a subtle and real way. Your use of guitar has driving energy that creates nice pacing and spacial effects. And I like the bass edge you achieve. The depth of the guitar chords in the chorus almost bury your vocals and perhaps needs more compression. (I really like to follow along with lyrics, if you could add them, I'd appreciate it. Especially the part about Suzy Snake.) And the beginning of the bridge "Just a little bug..." could use a guitar solo or something, in my ears, to bring the listener down a bit, settling into the vocals, and maybe a touch more reverb on the backing vocals. I dig the imagery and use of well balanced phrases. I agree that bringing the vocals forward would help the track, since its lyrics want to be heard. The level of "Cannot seem to find the words" section is just right in my ears, the vocals should float over the bed by that much throughout. But very nice track. Thanks for sharing this. Great song. The overall structure is solid. Nice sound.
I did have trouble making out the lyrics. The voice definitely could be brought forward. And share the lyrics if you are so inclined. I think lyrics get short changed on this site and I am on a mission to highlight them.
Really nice job.
