Description:
So...ummm....here is Chapter 21 of my (hopefully) never-ending story. "Now I Know" was created after I satisfied my curiosity about some things. Sometimes it feels so much better to just know. lol! I wonder what's next. Anyway....this one was a bit hard for me. At some points, it felt like I was pulling teeth to get it out. I thought to throw it out, but at that point I had already put too much time into it. I like the break towards the end. I like the chorus part. I guess I like all of the individual "parts," but I'm not so sure about the track as a whole. The more I listen to it from start to finish, the more it grows on me. I hope you like it. GB only. Loops only. Check it. Let me know your thoughts.

A Comment
For a loop song, it's very non-crappy. That is, I frown on the lack of original material but it sounds well-produced, well-conceived etc. anyway.

But it's not in my taste.. It sounds pop R&B-type, and too bright. I must have dark, plaintive noise to be pleased.

LOOPS ARE STUPID
i will argue with anyone that using loops is NOT making music...there is
nothing difficult about slapping someone elses creativity together.....i
make all my own loops and have no respect for loop based stuff....sorry

LOOPS ARE STUPID
Thanks for stopping to leave a comment. On a lot of levels, I totally agree
with you. But, I also beleive that if you listen to something and it sounds
good to you, then it is good. Putting 30 or 40 different sounds and melodies
together and making them sound cohesive is an art in it's self. Actually, I
think that in some ways, it's a bit harder because these are all independently
recorded sounds and melodies, not necessarily meant to be together. If I
were creating music myself, I would create only sounds and melodies that tell
the story I'm attempting to tell. I know a lot of great songwriters who do not
know how to use a computer or music program. I know a lot of computer
geeks who do not know how to play an instrument. Isn't the world big
enough for all to be good and appreciated for what they do best? I'm not
trying to be a great musician. I'm trying to be me and me is whoever I choose
to be in any moment that I have to make that decision. I'm not discounting
your opinion. Like I said in the beginning, I agree with you on most of it. I
just look at it differently. Thanks for bothering to stop and comment. I hope
you listened to it too. As a musician, I would appreciate your comments
about how it sounds. Your opinion would help me get better at what I do.

Now I Know.. that there is excellence in loops

I clicked on your profile at mystery macjammers and I was pleasanly
surprised to listen to some of your loop creations. Wow! I'm impressed
with how you arrange these loops. It's almost as though they were
made to sound the way you made them! Of all the loop specialsts I've
listened to in Macjams, you're the one who makes it an honor to be
doing it. There are some people here who frown at loops, but with
your creativity I guess you have-- and repeatedly you have-- proven
them wrong. Totally love this piece I'm commenting on, but I've
listened to snippets of your other loop music too, and honestly, they
are way better than most of the originally created songs here. It's not
how you made them that matters; it's the end-product that matters,
and I am totally digging it. Truth be said, you are one extremely
talented loop-arranger! Hope you keep doing what you're doing.

Now I Know.. that there is excellence in loops
PS: I totally respect guys who make their original music. For the record, I
play the guitars (good enough) and do my own keyboards (rudimentary
skills:-) and I sing (listen to my latest song to judge me on that), but I do use
minimal loops in the form of drums and other percussions. This does not put
me in a position to look down upon people who use loops to create music,
because it takes a totally different kind of skill to make something awesome
out of something that comes packaged. The challenge lies in making those
loop arrangements and layers as original as it can be, and with all due respect
to my fellow musicians who disagree, at many levels I think you have
achieved that.

Also, I like the cool-headedness and dignity with which you responded to the
music puritans. Man, you must be made of ice to respond with so much cool
diplomacy and wisdom. They do have a point, but theirs is a position I will
have to take only when asked of my own personal musical style. Peace,
everyone, brothers. We all can co-exist. It's a big world of varying tastes and
points of view. :-) More power, bro.
