Description
Ignore production. Not my usual style. Just rambling of my fingers in the middle of the night. Reflection I guess.

Kinda sounds like Requiem for a Dream a little bit.

Spontaneous & Pensive
You're right, this is different for you. It doesn't have that carefully
thought-out feeling; which makes this sound spontateously emotive, if
there is such a thing. It's a success! Dark & soothing, it evokes some very
cool images. This one has a delicacy to it that is a departure from some of
your other stuff as well. I wanted to hear more! And a new MacBook!
Whoo hoo! More, more, more! Thanks for this one, Ben.

layers of thought and sound
The string background is gorgeous, both in the high and low ranges.
Really like the patterns in it. Guitar is interesting, almost brings to mind
some Chinese music... and as always, you know how to make that piano
sound good. :)

MissChaos is right, it's dark, but takes you places you've either forgotten
about or haven't seen before..

The second half is especially beautiful.

nice theme
yep, very nice theme indeed, I'd love to hear more variations and parts around it, have you planned anything or... was it just something in the middle of the night?

Meditative
I like how you build this peice. I am not sure if that is a harp or an
acoustic guitar you are using but it sounds very nice. Song sort of has
a dark meditative feel to it. The strings sound great. Too short a peice
though, you can extend this into something larger I believe. Thanks for
sharing.

I can see the title credits
Quite cinematic. The opening for a murder mystery set in the woods, maybe.

Nice job.

It's not John Cougar Mellencamp..but it sounds so good.
This has a little bit of an exotic arrangement to it, not quite classical and
almost verging on eastern (Chinese as CJHoose intuitively points out).
And I agree, it's a little brooding and dark rather than grand and
energetic, which is a welcome diversion from your usual style. Also, this
has a minimalist layering of sounds, consistent with Eastern music (and
Eastern art in general), although I suppose you didn't have that in mind
when you composed this song. Certainly a refreshing treat from someone
who has a wide-ranging style of musical design. Great job, Ben!

this reminds me of
the Inspector Morse score. Definitely, suitable material for film. Well
done.

Quiet reflection
There's something quite meditative about this yet at the same time
something agitated and unsettled. It's over way too quickly but I could
imagine it working in a film score perhaps a scene with no speech where a
key character is weighing up an important matter and choosing their next
course of action...

Great track and wonderful low strings

I
Dig this one.
Nice departure to a slightly darker and reflective sound.
You might be on to something.

This Has Potential
Well, like my title says, "This Has Potential" and lots of it. I really liked the theme that was being built. But where is it takeing us? Every trip needs a destination, but I guess your still traveling.
