silly fun &mdash 03/23/06 - 02:06:52 PM
This is quite whimsical... The funny little yodelling was very different than
your other (more serious-sounding) music, but it made me smile through
the whole song. Nice guitar background playing... and this was recorded
well... the guitar and voice were clear. There was a little clipping in a few
places where the guitar and voice were a little too loud, but not too bad.
You have very wide vocal range!

I imagine a little animated movie in my mind while this plays... something
about a raven and a sparrow arguing about how to sing.

Thank you, drakonis, for your enlightening comments.
It was a little bit risky for me to sing in such a way, but I was asked by friends to do so. For me it's an experiment.
But nevertheless, I had fun.

Volker, I found this after seeing you on the "Who's Online" pane. I've
enjoyed Bavarian/Austrian folk and rock music for some time after
living briefly in Munich (Neushausen in der naehe von Schloss
Nymphenburg), and your style here reminds me of that a lot. This was
a lot of fun, especially as it reminded me of the mountains south of
Munich. Wo wohnst du in Deutschland? In Bayern vielleicht?
I will go back and listen to more from you when I get some time.
Neil

Hi Neil!
Thanks for your nice comments. It was not my intention to improvise a song, which reminds listeners of yodelling. I trained switching fast between normal and head voice. It has to be improved...
Your German language is quite good. My first impression was, that you are German. How long did you live in Neuhausen?
I've been several times in Munich, but I live in the Cologne area.

All the best

Volker, I speak enough to get myself into trouble :) I understand quite well.
I'm Australian, but have a German/French-teacher wife. We only lived in
Neuhausen briefly (3 months) in 1994, but really love Germany, and have
been there many times (most recently in 2004 when we spent time in
Wildberg and Muenstertal im Schwarzwald - we have many friends in
Germany, in Munich, Saarlouis, Heidelberg and Ludwigshafen. We will be in
Ludwigshafen in 2007 for our "exchange-daughter"'s wedding. My wife and
25 year old daughter are fluent speakers. "I mog (etwas)" is the only
Bayerisch I know.
I'm pleased we have made contact - I'll keep an eye out for your songs.
Tschues,
Neil

Wonderful (as usual) &mdash 03/26/06 - 03:29:08 PM
Do you sing the same song the same way twice or do you make it up
every time? I mean, if you play this song again, will it be like this, or will it
be totally improved again?

Also, have you ever put out a disc? I think if some critics got a hold of
your tracks they would have a lot of fun with it. Music is always looking
for something new.

What do I know though, maybe there are tons of artists doing this, but
you are the only one I know of. I love this stuff. Very schizophrenic (but in
a good way).

Hello cjorgensen!
Thanks for your good and interesting comments.
You've asked key questions. Due to the fact that all my songs are totally improvised, therefore I've never played the same song again. I'm not able to do this. If I try to repeat my improvisation, it became a new one. I'm not willing to memorize a song, because then I'll loose my capability to improvise a whole song all at once (guitar play or keyboard + melody + freestyle fantasy language). I believe, that this is a way to express my feeling directly, unaltered and authentic. It became unique.
That's my musical style. I named it TVI-Music: Total Vocalistic and instrumental Improvisation.
Up to now I did not find anyone, who is making music in the same way. Yes partly, but not the whole song all at once.
The disadvantage of my TVI-Music is that it is not perfect... errors have crept in. But that's daily life, and nobody is perfect. I prefer authentic music with small deficiencies than clinical sterile perfectly constructed music.
By the way, a lot of my improvisations failed. After recording I decide whether the piece of improvisation is acceptable or not.
My musical improvisations are all snapshots of my feelings.

I hope, I've answered your questions sufficiently?
All teh best
Philos
