Deep Dark Secrets (written by BranDaMan)

Description
(*The initial posting of this song was accidentally deleted while editing the song profile. Sorry for that.)

This is a very personal song written by BranDaMan, which he posted only with lyrics. His listeners have clamored for vocals. I was very impressed with this song so I asked to lend my voice to it. Brandon said it was about as close as he wanted it to sound, staying true to the sad and brooding theme of an otherwise romantic song.

Everyone has a deep dark secret. We can all relate to the message of this song.

Lyrics
DEEP DARK SECRETS
(lyrics and instruments by BranDaMan; vocals by Leon)

Verse 1)
Days drift slowly into darkness, guilt is the feeling I harness.
I keep it buried down deep, sometimes it's hard to keep it in.
It's hard to look at your face when I go out to your place.
I can't find the words to tell you how I feel...

Chorus:
My days are nights, my nights are days.
I hide from you and all your ways
I feel empty, shattered and cold, worn out,
should I let you know that I keep all these Deep Dark Secrets?

Verse 2)
I was once happy with you, that's lost and hard to undo,
the past is dead and buried, tears are all that we've carried
the word love has no meaning so now I am retreating
I can't find the words to tell you how I feel...

Chorus:
My days are nights, my nights are days.
I hide from you and all your ways
I feel empty, shattered and cold, worn out,
should I let you know that I keep all these Deep Dark Secrets?

Skean, thanks so much for your appreciation of the song. You are very generous and kind in your assessment. To get that review from one as talented as you makes it an even bigger honor. If i did sound good on this song, it was becasue Brandon's composition was just plain awesome. I am just riding on his coattails.

Again thanks for re-posting your feedback.

Jes, thanks so much! Wow, you certainly make me and Brandon proud of this song. Comments like this are very heartwarming and inspiring (especially from a fabulous songwriter like you!)

Truth is, I had to convince Brandon that i could sing this song with feelings before he gave his approval :-) I am glad that I can share his song for everyone to experience, feel, and enjoy.

That was pretty sad. Awesome singing. Very clean. All around
goodness. Nice adaptation on someone else's lyrics. May the Lord have
mercy on your tormented soul ;)

You go, Leon!
BranDAMan, very fine songwriting. Leon, a most excellent vocal
rendering in the fullest sense of the word. Well produced song.
Dripping with emotion.

Richard, thanks for the kind words and encouragement. Haven't made many
enough friends here, but I'm happy enough to find a fellow-Minnesotan here
who embodies the fine qualities of a dedicated musician.

This IS BranDaMan's song, and I'm happy to share in the glory of it.

Great interpretation
Great voice Leon - like the harmonies especially. You have really
grabbed this by the throat and given it a good shake. Very nice
interpretation of the original musical piece - I expect BranDaMan is
very pleased with your excellent contribution.

cool voicing
nice backround as well, like the harmony.
I hear abit of journey's Steve Perry, like how you added the synth strings
as well.

Nice!

cool voicing
To have TheTiler as a fan is like having a deity of music on your side. I feel that
his words of appreciation are godly blessings that will spare me from musical
tragedy.

Thanks, Tiler. I didn't realize that it did sound like a Journey or Foreigner song
until i listened to it and heard myself wailing. It was Brandon's music that made
it necessary to sound that way.

now THAT's singing
You just don't hold back and thank goodness for that. Your vocal trills are
amazingly controlled and styled. The music is beautiful. What an amazing
combination. It's a strange one too... you'd think with the heavy reverb on
the piano, that your upfront vocals would sound too separate. But the
added reverb on the harmony/backing vocals blends this in a really cool
back 'n forth way. I'm an instant fan.

now THAT's singing
If MC says it's great, then it's like being told it's close to achieving
misschaotic harmony. That is a musical benchmark which is more than most
musicians can hope for!

I am humbled by your appreciation, MC!

Powerful Piece
Solid emotional rendering of this song. Powerful, forceful, almost mid-
eastern or gypsy at times. Sounds as good or better than most of the
stuff on the radio. Oh, and did I say great voice!

Thanks so much, Bronco. That inspiring comment made my day! To say that
this song is good enough for radio is truly a rewarding feedback. Hmm..maybe I
should send a copy to my local radio station. :-)

Relaxing Tension
Ooh, I'm glad this was posted. Thanks you too for getting this out. Sorry for taking so long to reply again, I've been soooo busy recently. This is well mixed, and carries a very laid back and then angry feel. I like it. It almost has this relaxing tension feel to it. The vocals seem extremely meaningful and Leon makes them soar as usual. Great Job.

Great big vox
Wow man - your voice sounds great on this, really belts the song out - I
love the piano in the verses, as it has such a lonely sound .... which is
then shattered by the soaring chorus. Your singing fantastic as ever, your
arrangements get better and better.

Keep roaring and soaring my friend.
