Description:
A worship song the Lord gave me. I know virtually nothing about production, sound levels, etc., plus i haven't picked up my guitar in 2 decades, so please bear with me. :-) This is just me singing with me and me and me, and playing my 1968 Gibson Blue Ridge acoustic.
Lyrics:
Delight yourself in the Lord
He placed all the stars in the sky
He knows where every flower is
He knows what makes you cry
Do what is right in his sight
And if you don’t know it, then wait
Humble yourself under his mighty hand
And he will make all your paths straight
Chorus:
Glorious Father
Most precious Jesus
Holy Spirit, living in me
All thing are made new
How I adore You
Even when life gets rough
You see me through
Delight yourself in the Lord
Worship Him all the day long
Joyful reliance and trust in his plan
Will create in your heart a new song
Do what is right in his sight
In faith and repentance be free
The wind of the Spirit will carry you home
Like the breeze on a peaceful sea
Chorus
And when my life ends here,
I’ll still be with You

spread your wings &mdash 03/29/06 - 10:18:26 PM
because you can fly, thank you for believing in yourself. I can hear
past the little things that need tweaking and I can see you smiling and
having a great time with this. Things to work on: The guitar seemed a
little quiet (bring the level up a little more, you're playing it well) and
also a little tinny/trebly, recording closer and boosting the bass a little
may help... waking up one morning to find a really nice microphone
miraculously on your doorstep might help too. Your singing two tracks
was amazing, because your second recording was almost identical to
the first... but I wouldn't have panned them so far to the left & right,
just a little off center ( /-10 maybe?) Then when the chorus comes in
and blows us all over with the power and beauty of your harmonies,
that is awesome... and I would pan those voices a little farther right/
left( -20). Your lyrics fit perfectly into the meter, well written. Uh, I'll
stop and let other more knowledgeable people comment... those are
my thoughts. Overall, this shows off your pretty voice and your lyric-
writing talent... get ready for the flood of collab requests as more
people discover this gem we call Roxylee, bwahaha...

Thank you for all your encouragement and eagle thoughts, Drak. :-) I'm
writing down your suggestions for the next harmony song. I like the richness
of having 4 vocal tracks, but I didn't experiment enough with that, or with mic
placement for the guitar. Since the mic is dangling from a wire on the top of
the monitor, it was hard to place it anywhere else. <G> Thank you for your
comments; they are much appreciated. :-)

with drakonis; you are a gem Roxy. Your lyrics and harmony are
amazingly beautiful. I'm sure you can find someone to help you with the
technical stuff and the mic. :-)
I like the picture too. :-)
God bless you,

Thank you, Rick! Oh- silly me!I forgot to add that the beautiful flower picture
was taken by our own RickW. And I'll be sure to ask you for technical advice
from now on, too. :-)

I was going to ask about that photo, very nice! Is it a buttercup? My knowledge
of botany is slippery. I'm overjoyed to know the gem is in such good hands!

Drak, I'm also ignorant about botany. This is just a pretty flower I found growing
on the mountain near my cabin, that I just had to take a picture of.

Ah yes... a gem of a song... &mdash 03/30/06 - 10:16:09 AM
and that is because of the beautiful lyrics and vocals. I could listen to you sing all day. Just a few minutes ago I finished playing my song you sing harmonies on (For All The Many Things) for a guy who has an Irish band.... he was, likewise, impressed with your singing. That should post soon, btw.
This song is a prayerful song from the heart. Being one who tends not to concentrate very much on production qualities, I often don't hear what others do regarding necessary changes. What I do pick up is how much "you are in this song." And how expressive your vocals are in communicating your love and thankfulness to the Lord.
Keep those luscious vocal harmonies coming....

Wow, Jack, thank you ver much. The Lord gave me the words and the melody,
and singing harmony is "my thing." It was an honor to sing on your new song
and I'm looking forward to hearing it. Thank you for all your encouraging
words. :-)

the best you've done yet! You and those back-up angels of yours sound
amazing! Your guitar playing sounds just fine, although it could be a tad
louder in the mix. Great lyrics sung with conviction. I am awed.

The vocals are really wonderful. The suggestions for productions are all
good, so I won't go into that. You sing with real confidence, and that is
nice to hear. The message is also uplifting and joyful! [ Reply to This ]

Delightful song! &mdash 04/05/06 - 03:57:33 PM
It's the kind of happy song that makes me want to tinker & jam, Maybe a
little bass guitar and some noodling & picking over it.
Your vocals are wonderful. Thank you for listening to God and doing it.
You may want to update your profile where it says you "have yet to record
a song." You hit one out of the park.

Delightful song! &mdash 04/06/06 - 09:41:36 AM
Thank you, pastor. My guitar playing is rusty, to say the least. If you or
anyone in here wants to doctor it up, just let me know. I'd like to hear it with
a decent guitar and/or bass. :-) To God be the glory!

Thank you &mdash 06/03/06 - 07:39:13 AM
Where to start...
The lyrics are amazing, simple, profound (if you don't know what is right
wait) Love it!!!
Vocals as usual are just lovely
Gutiar playing in my opinion is right where it needs to be for this song.
Simple but clean, nice volume level. Give yourself some credit for His
honor because He has given you a gift evidenced by the blessing you give
all of us here.
