Description:
The premise of the song , has to do with some guy who is obsessing on a girl(who wants nothing to do with him) so he uses booze as medicine. I wrote this one a million years ago, before prozac.
Lyrics:
bartender bartender pour me another
one to forget her and one to surrender
the way that she moved me last september
I sit here alone getting long in the tooth
pour me another
where oh where is my little lassie
I sit here drinking my eyes getting glassy
I raise up my glass and I toast to here chasis
I raise up my glass and I toast to her eyes
pour me another
Joe set em up
I lost my zen
can’t drown this memory with gin
her face still rushes in again
much to my chagrin
listen here Joseph Im asking you kindly
i’ll give you my keys
you don’t have to remind me
no matter how far I run shes behind me
so make it a double and hold the vermouth
pour me another
Joe set em up
I lost my zen
can’t drown this memory with gin
her face still rushes in again
much to my chagrin

Fabulous track &mdash 04/05/06 - 12:52:43 AM
I love this....I don't play the voting game but if I did this would get nines
and tens! Great vocals, guitar and keyboards...a really well produced
evocative track. Thanks for sharing it!

Steve. You really are too kind. Though, I am grateful for the positive feed back. I
also appreciate your characterization of voting as a game. For the most part I
feel I ‘ve been given a fair shake considering my relative lack of participation,
and all the great music here. Im just happy to have a place to post my songs.
Thanks again for kind words.

this is high quality stuff. It's been up for a while and I'd missed it. You've got a great full sound here-- the tele wails, I like the strings pad and git lines--but also it sounds to me like a hell of fun song to jam in the backyard over a few beers. It just has a very cool rawness and almost "jug band" like rhythm to it (not sure if that makes sense but I don;t know how else to put it...)
I've been listening to the Calexico/iron and wine album lately. I'm not totally sold on it but there are a few tracks that seem to be in the same territory that you're investigated here. You might be interested in taking a listen.
Looking forward to the next one... [ Reply to This ]

Man, real strong. Love the production, really love your voice on this.
Real edge to it. It all fits well. Damn near perfect in my book. [ Reply to This ]
