Description
Now that there's a cat out there singing (Hold Me, by Smudge), I had to get our darling Lily into the act, too. I told the students at school that I'd trained our dog to sing, and played this for them. Yes, some of them believed that she was actually 'singing' the song in real time. isn't GarageBand great!

Yeah, I'm just hoping she doesn't start to supplant me in the vocals on my other

I love this
I'm glad you enjoyed it.My daughter & I are trying to record some additional 'Lily
sounds' and put together a few more songs. We'll see how much patience a 10
year old has for such things.

Very funny, and sounds like a fun project to do with your child. You
probably know the dog version of Jingle Bells? I used to play it for my
students on the last day of the fall semester every year, but I'm not sure
what happend to it. It was a '45 (single), done before samplers were
around. As I recall, different dogs were used for different pitches for that
one.

Thanks for posting this!

Dogged Determination
I was just going to add that it's hard to know what genre to put this in, since,
incredibly, there is no "singing dog" genre, or even "animal tracks"! I'm not
sure "experimental" is right, but here are a few that this might fit in:

Children's Music
Cinematic Soundtrack (Benji)
Classical (Mozart did a famous set of variations on this tune, as did many
others)
Trance (the feeling I got when I heard it)
Ringtones (who wouldn't want this on their cell phone?)
Ska (no idea what this is, but I like the look of that word!)

Cheers!

LOL! you obviously are finished with your spring semester - you seem to be
coming up with some real 'doggone' funny ideas.

My kids have the 'Carol Dogs' CD. It's a whole 12 songs as sung by dogs
including the famous 'Jingle Bells' you mentioned. They drive me crazy with it
every winter.
