Lyrics
it was a late all-ages show...
and though it wasn't on the way
i drove you home...

i rolled the window down
and listened to the sound
that was ringing in my head...

all the way to Storrow Drive...
as the day became tomorrow,
i thought about the show; you and me
and people growing older
at the only speed they know...

and the night was cold and clear...
and the stars were falling
through the atmosphere
with no thought of growing old
or being young again...

-and i wanted to hold everything...

Simply lovely
You have a great voice. Very emotive, nice phrasing, great tone. I quite liked the wistful lyrics - full of knowing and regret.

This is a keeper!

jonx sound
The lyrics conjure up vivid images for me

and people growing older
at the only speed they know...

whoa! man, where do you come up with that? A neat twist on the
preception of age and time.

with no thought of growing old
or being young again...

that's such a riviting line. Man, you slice a thin sliver of being in the
present with this line. Living in the moment.

Your poetry is such a pleasure. As usualy, great voice and solid,
melodic guitar/music bed.

I think you stay close to a familiar sound and song structure, bearing in
mind, that your sound is extremely pleasant. I'd love to hear you do a
smoky jazz deal.
Anyway, as usual, I downloaded even before I listen to your song.
thanks mister x

Another excellent post!
Beautiful voice jonx, and very nice on the harmonies. Lyrics -
thoughtful an thought-provoking. Guitar just sits where it's needed,
and is quite un-invasive - excellent mix. Liked the final sfx!
Another excellent post!
Thanks, Neil

the benchmark
You have pretty much set the benchmark for creativity @ this sight for
me... somehow if everybody else is getting mid 8's and so are you then
these scores really don't mean much... anyway, good scores do help
us get listeners, and I think people should hear this... so here is my 10
bomb

you have a fan here

Beautifully done
It's a complete package. thoughtful lyrics, tender voice, supportive
instrumentals, good production - made me a bit teary eyed, this did.

Pretty
Wow, the last two songs I've listened to on MJ were guitar/vox (no perc or
bass), and I'm really diggin' it. At first, I'm inclined to say "well this sounds
like a build to something else. It's like a 2 minute intro...), and I'm sure
you could take this a million different pop directions. But instead you
deliver this with such tender grace and poise. It's delicate as you
intended, and so focused. Kinda Wallflowers-esque. Very skillful singing.
I'm mighty impressed. thank you for sharing this.

thanks!

thanks, but this one's kinda weak-need to re-do the gtr. w/ an 8th
note-delay so there's more movement-gets kinda boring-maybe fiddle
w/ the melody/vox sound kind of removed maybe add ac. gtr at end of
verse sects to warm it up-i look at it like this: 105 plays and 16
downloads?-it's not connecting...i'll keep making 'em if y'all keep
listening--thanks again!

I can't agree with you, Mr. Jonx. Weak? Not by a long shot. This is a gem. This is
a work of art. I think you could overdub any number of tracks on top of this, but
I also think those overdubs are not even vaguely necessary in this case.

There is so much wonderful emotion conjured up by this song... it sits
beautifully on its own. Really nice music - really nice.

You'll keep making them if we keep listening? Then go ahead - I'll certainly be
looking for them. You are vastly talented, and it's an enormous treat to hear
what you come up with. Thank you for all your material offered at this site.

I need
to get out more!
I get so busy that i don't have much time to swim around here to find the
other talent.
Take you for example. I knew who you were, but didn't get around to
listening to your stuff yet. I like this, and it reminds me a little of
Catherine Wheel. Love it.
Nice lyrics, nice vibe, nice guitar.
Kudos.

Well done
You've got a very unique sound and approach, I found this song to be very wistful and dreamy - and I love how you keep it in such a mellow mood. Great job! The sound effects, I'm not sure if I'd miss them - you really paint the picture quite well without them!

great stuff!!!
Always looking forward to the very latest Jonx piece, thank you for
posting, "f-food" is my all time favorite...due to my slow internet
connection, I find myself just reading the lyrics and conjuring up images,
on how it could relate to the music, and in your case, your music always
delivers!!!

thanks again

I love the title &
this is a GREAT SONG... : )!! My truth is We have ***All Ages*** in us but We learn to hide them to 'protect' ourselves..from what ?from being hurt.we all got bruises & scares but Humans are VERY REPAIRABLE, when we repair we feel more free to express different sides of our personalities AND bring forward 'different ages' in us - sometimes feeling like a stubborn 3yearold or a teenager(actually there are big similarities btw the two!)or an old woman / man.. although People whom have taken alot of drugs/haschish anyway when they are still young when body & brain are still growing - thier emotional status can 'get stuck'at being like a teenager although they might be 40 0r 60 ! Its more common than think- just take a look around You;) ! Thanks for another great song , saw You haven't posted since last year ?
