Description:
I recorded a piano trio version of this about a year ago. That was one of my first submissions to MacJams, and it's the one which has gotten the most hits.
Over on iCompositions, a member named Dave M contacted me and asked if he could sing a vocal on top of my trio track. I was pleased to be asked, and happily agreed, eager to get a fresh take on the song.
Here's the result.
Piano: Me from Indianapolis. Synthogy Ivory, run through GB2. (My earlier post used a lesser, but still OK, piano from SonicBoomBox.) 2004 eMac 1.25 ghz, 768mb Ram. Keyboard is a Yamaha P-120. Midi interface is MidiSport 2x2.
Drums: MacJammer drlaine from Pennsylvania. These are real drums, from his real drum studio in his house. Check out his latest post. He also sings, and sings pretty well!
drlaine also provided most of the drum tracks to my CD which is available on iTunes. (Oops! Did I just plug my CD?)
Vocals: iComper Dave M, from England. (Although I can't hear a British accent.)
Bass: Synth bass "Jazz Double Bass Soft" from Sonic Boom Box.

I never heard the original posting so I'm overjoyed to stumble on this one!
You've got a joyous groove going here brother! Love your vocal delivery.
The piano is superb as usual!
Bless you!

On behalf of Dave, I thank you for the comment about the vocals. He did a
very good job. And thanks for your kind words about the piano playing.
But this track would have gone nowhere without drlaine.

There is so much joy in this. I love the Bobby Daren feel. Love the intro-
ending, the way Dave laid in the vocals in such an effortless way, the
perfect drumming, the wonderful piano playing and choices. There are
times players seem to rush the tempo just a bit, within measures, but it
doesn't ever interrupt the flow. The overall effect is joyous, lighthearted
yet full of warmth, so enjoyable. Wonderful track. Fantastic
collaboration.

Thanks, Tobin. I always appreciate your thoughtful comments.
