Description:
used miroslav philharmonik with this. primarily a sketch, as i have just aquired the plug in..... wonderful sounds. i'm trying to work out the articulation on the faster strings.... but everything else about this program sounds great. this is heavily inspired by Bartok...... and is based of two pitch collections..... F#-D#-C#-D-C and a counter- C-C#-D...... they vary and mutate with retrogrades, antegrades, augmentations and diminutions........ very night sounding..... solo and string orchestra, percussion and celeste....

It really does sound like Bartk -- especially the Music for Strings, Persussion and Celesta. Fine sounds, nice mirrored form. [ Reply to This ]

yup. this was an exercise with the new orchestral plug-in i aquirred....... so this was intentionally going for just that - Bartok. my fav 20th century composer. well, maybe some S.Barber in there as well...... hmmmm..... come to think of it, maybe some A. Webern.....lol. i could go on, but...........thanks for the listen. [ Reply to This ]
Thoughtful and Interesting &mdash 04/13/06 - 11:27:43 AM
It's great to hear someone stretching out past the regular GB bill of fir here at MJ. Also, the real understanding of traditional orchestral roots definitely shows through in your writing (and NO, classical roots are NOT stuffy!). I'm looking forward to a revision when you get the faster articulations worked out.
Speaking of plug-ins, it's time for Altiverb! Nothing better for orchestral stuff (just started experimenting with it and it's pretty dang cool).
Anyway, good stuff A! [ Reply to This ]
Interesting track &mdash 04/15/06 - 06:51:07 AM
This track interests me. Has interesting moods and interesting melodies.
Also pleasant to listen to.
If I were to nitpick one thing ... if that could be of any help ... it would be
that the violins stop too abrupt some places. Guess that's hard to do
anything about(?) ... or it isn't intentional ...?...
Downloaded and faved, (and hi votes) ..
