with zero stress. the subtle little ending is a great touch. excellent
production too.

as with all audio sedatives i wonder what the experience would be like
sans beat.

Thanks for that C&F. Sans beat eh....? I may try a longer Enoesque version at
some point. Have a good one!

and it's easy - like sunday morning! a gentle on my mind and lovely to listen to little track - just a tad too short for my taste but thank you for sharing nonetheless

My pleasure Caroline. It is rather small but (I hope) perfectly formed. Happy
Easter!!

Experimental? &mdash 04/23/06 - 05:02:12 AM
I was not going to listen to this, because it is posted as experimental
(which I usually find unbearable) but I have the same moustache as you,
so I figured I would give it a go - very glad I did, it is fantastic.

has a light, cool feel--very enjoyable! I like the distorted electric piano
sound, and the percussion sounds great to me. As some others have
said, it feels too short, and for me the ending feels pretty abrupt. I
personally think it's got lots of room to grow, but I'm guessing that
since you refer to it as being 'perfectly formed,' you like it the way it is,
which, of course, is fine!

I am also not sure I'd put this in the 'experimental' category; I associate
that category with more 'out there' stuff, whereas I'd think this would
be easy for anyone to enjoy.

A fine composition.

Thanks for picking up on this one CC. I was really chuffed to have this as my
first track on macjams : it was short and sweet and yes I have to say I do like it
that way. It's not that it couldn't be extended....just.....well....call it laziness but
once I finish an idea I just want to get the next one. I don't want to spend an
inordinate amount of time stressing over compositions. I write, then tinker,
smile and release. This could be a bad strategy judging from my other 3
offerings: 2 are silly and the other dull but as wife had threatened me with
divorce If I didn't put SOMETHING up, I said 4 tracks by the end of April. Anywho
Onwards and Upwards!

Nah, it's a fine strategy. Some composers tinker and revise almost endlessly
-- Bruckner comes to mind -- but most do some tinkering and revising along
the way, then, once it's done, it's done, and they move onto something else.
The trouble with tinkering TOO much is that there can come a point when all
objectivity is lost, and you're just tinkering for the sake of tinkering. The
other problem is that it prevents a person from moving on to a new piece.
On the other hand, NEVER revising can mean that one's compositions may not
reach their potential, so it's a balancing act. Keep doing it as you are!

I listened to and really enjoyed all your Macjams. Really liked "Shards" and "Antiwire". Non - governmentals rule.
