Renaissance (17)dulcimer (33)Drakonis (55)Roxylee (27)harmony (56)folk (362)peaceful. (1)
Description:
When I first heard Drakonis's Renaissance instrumental, Dulce Amor, I heard a love song, in there, so I composed one. (Thank you, Eduard, for graciously allowing me to post it on my page :-) It is dedicated to my sweet knight in shining armor. :-)

Drakonis plays dulcimer in the background. A couple of great children pose in Renaissance Faire outfits. Original instrumental dulcimer piece and background story: http://www.macjams.com/song/19888.

Lyrics:
Lyrics:
My love in the morning
will rise and come riding
His horse bejeweled bridled
and hooves swiftly flashing
He'll ride into valleys,
then up, over mountains
My love will sustain him
My arms will enfold him

How the earth trembles
with joy at our meeting
For love to be realized
My heart quickly beating
In wonderment, standing
No speaking is needed
I run to his warm arms
My dream is completed

My love in the morning
will rise and come riding
Our love will be, will be

the spirit of Draks fine tune Roxylee! It was already very pretty. Now it's a
thing of beauty. Well done...well done!

Vox on!

Thank you, Mike. I had planned on fine-tuning the vocals, but knew I
wouldn't be able to get around to that for weeks, so I just posted it as is.
Thank you for your kind comments. :-)

heehee, Roxy Vox the castle! &mdash 04/14/06 - 11:19:37 PM
I'm always amazed at how easily you come up with such nice lyrics that fit
naturally into some piece, likes this one that I hadn't even thought of
writing words to... and then you invent the melody, and then the
harmonies, and then sing it. Yes, you could have done a bunch more
takes, but I think the vocals are not bad at all. And you're beginning to
get the hang of GB too, sounds good! Also, I noticed you did get the
larger image of my ch... uh, of the children inserted into the mp3 file,
cool! I think any knight would be pleased with such a beautiful gift!
ttfn,
Drakonis

Thank you, Eduard. I don't know why some tunes just jump out at me and ask
for words, but it happens sometimes. It's all inspired by God. I'd never written
a song in my life until I asked the Lord to give me some. I'm really glad you
think it fits, since you wrote the beautiful music first. And your ch... I mean,
the children in the picture are beautiful, too. :-)

Wow &mdash 04/15/06 - 07:39:20 PM
The perfect accompaniment to Eduard's dulcimer! Who'da thunk it could be done so well? That lovely singing is in perfect spiritual synch with the drak tune. Bravo!

Wow &mdash 04/16/06 - 04:55:03 AM
Thank you, David. when I heard the melody, I felt the emotion in the note and
knew it was a song for a lady waiting for her knight. I'm glad I was able to
pull it off and do justice to the beautiful dulcimer playing.

You have a wonderful way with words Roxy. Your lyrics are always
inspired by the Lord and always come sweetly to the ear. I don't think
there is anything such as a "Knight In Shining Armor", but whoever he is,
he is very fortunate to have you as his Lady In Waiting. :-)

God bless you,

Rick

Thank you, Rick. OK, no such thing as a knight in shining armor??? Hey, it's
Easter and a billion people believe the Easter bunny has broght them candy.
So I'm keeping my perception of the man who treats me like his Princess. :-)
Thank you for all your uplifting words. :-)

your voice and lyrics go perfectly with drak's dulcimer - it's amazing how that man inspires others - it makes the world go around - thank you for being inspired and then for sharing x and... hmm... nice looking kids - i've seen those two somewhere before!!!

Thank you, Caroline! Yes, Drak is certainly an encourager. He got me started
in GarageBand and kept telling me I had it in me to compose. Without his
prompting, I'd not even have tried to write a song. Since joining MacJams, my
life has gotten richer and I now have the confidence to try being creative. So
thank you, Eduard! And thank you for listening, Caroline. :-)

both words and singing. And perfectly in the mood of Drakonis' work.

What lucky knight that has you by his side:)
I had to play this three times 'cause it's so short, and I really liked your voice:) Excellent harmonies.

You have a new fan:)

Wow, thank you. :-) I'm glad you liked what I did with this. Harmony just
comes natural to me, thanks to my mom, who would have my sisters and me
sing together when we were little. And I feel lucky to have such as knight as
this in my life. :-)

Thank you ver much. Maybe Drak will compose more dulcimer tunes that we
can write songs to. <hint hint> :-)

So, which ren fair are the two of you &mdash 04/21/06 - 06:31:16 PM
performing at this summer? Really nice. Roxy, The words have an old
fashioned feeling to them, and it is really interesting how you
superimpose a nice melody, lyrics & harmonies that seem to fit so very
well. Drak, the dulce playing is really nice, and enhanced by the addition
of voice. Maybe you have a new job, here. (Don't quit your day job just
yet,) but there's some potential for more collabs like this that would
sound really nice.

Why, thank you very much, Kristy. When I heard Drak's fine dulcimer piece, I
knew it was a medieval love song. It just wrote itself. I'm glad you liked it. :-)

Music to rise by &mdash 04/28/06 - 08:09:33 AM
Such a wonderful feeling I get from this. The performance is a little too
far away from the mic and a little less tight rhythmically than my ears
want for a professional recording, but the warmth and sweetness of this
tune and performance is heartfelt and appreciated. Thank you.

Thank you, Tobin. Yes, I recorded this without fine-tuning it (lack of
patience) ; also I was using a cheap mic. I got a new mic for my birthday
(thank you, Rick!) so hopefully my next collab will sound better. Thank you
for your constructive comments. :-)

Thank you for your encouraging words. This song just wrote itself after being
inspired by Eduard's dulcimer and by Rck's forthcoming visit. :-)
