Feels like days end...
Very pretty and very moody. You and thetiler constantly inspire me with
your beautiful acoustic guitar work. One of your nicest pieces Curry. I'm
often sympatico with the mood this tune conveys. I will return to it again
and again.

It's a line from Charles Dicken's: OLIVER TWIST.

first off -
purple is my favorite color so you already have my attention. :)

And wow.. this is a gorgeous piece. Playing, recording quality,
everything... perfect. Like what The Conductor said, moody. It's soft, dark
and a little bit on the sad side. Brings to mind visions of old and strange
places.

Wow, thanks a lot Caroline! When I think of it ... doesn't it have some mood
realtionship to the Jade-artwork on your page... ?

This is truly gorgeous
I've never dared experiment with alternative tunings (I struggle enough
to find my way around the standard one) but this is a magnificent
example of what I've been missing out on. I love the unusual melodies
and harmonies ... the D tuning creates something that sounds really
different and touches the listener very deeply. There's a beautiful flow
to this piece which is quite mesmerising. As well as your mastery of the
guitar there's the unique soul that you give to your music. Lovely.

Just curious though. Why purple?

This is truly gorgeous
First a great thank you for giving your response!

Then why purple ... well, nothing else than that I associated the mood to colour
when I wanted to give it a name ... think purple is closest ...

gorgeous
it is a mesmerizing piece, and as usual, so wonderfully played... it has a
bit of the rolling repetitive "Asturias" feel (I love that piece), but it is
definitely not Spanish sounding. Quite unique, and rich, great recording.

Before everything else, great tone!
You're really getting a great sound out of your guitar with this tuning,
and it's exquisitely recorded. There's warmth, but it's well articulated,
and the tone has just enough of brass to sparkle.

I've actually spoken to John Pearse a few times; he makes great strings,
and I used to use them, for years. Really particular about the metal he
buys for the wrap wire, and about the tension at which he winds
them...

My wife, behind me, says, "Tell him I love it."

I really love the mood and the melodic line, especially in the main part.
For a guy exploring a new tuning, your time is spot on, relaxed and
assured.

It's really good to have another piece from you...

Ed

Before everything else, great tone!
First of all; thank you Ed for showing your warm appreciation!

Don't know why, but I was thinking before posting, that Ed probably knew
something about these strings ... but I didn't imagine that you also knew John
Pearse himself. I am interested in why you don't use them today. And why I'm
not using them more myself. And a lot of other details around the subject ... Ok,
guess we could have a long exchange concerning strings ... mail me your phone
number :-)

And tell your wife: Thanks a lot!

About time!
About time we had another Curry piece to brighten the day! As I listen,
I am really enjoying your experiment with a different tuning - it gives
an unusual slant to a tune, and is something I've just started playing
around with myself. This is perhaps the first of your posts here where I
can imagine a vocal working well - I love those little discordant parts
which seem to happen so seamlessly in D tuning.
You sure can set a mood Johannes!
Thanks, Neil

For some reason...
...listening to this I get images from Astrid Lindgrens stories... Maybe it is that swedish soul you've captured in this masterful piece.

Beautiful... it is letting me ease down in a green field at summer time with a blue sky above and fantasy figure formed clouds flying by...

Thank you. I'll have a copy for my iPod to listen to on my sunday walks:)

Mesmerizing
Curry, you never fail to amaze me. Every time you touch a guitar, it simply
sings for you. This meditative exploration is exquisite and will be listened
to many times.

Thank you and God bless,

Rick

wow. I'll have to try it some time. I make my own tunings from time to time, just messin around, but never remember them. They may already exist. Interesting concept to explore. Very minor. Just a guitar track and it's completely mezmorizing. Grrrrrrrrrrreat!

How'd I miss this one???
In mid-April I was buried in work, which may be why I missed this, but
better late than never! It has a beautiful darkness. One day it would be
fun to sit around a fire and play guitar tunes for each other.

it's hard to believe that such a powerful musical soul such as yours could
have spent 20 years (or whatever it was) away from music. It just flows
out of you so naturally and expressively.
