Nice edge &mdash 04/18/06 - 08:19:03 AM
I dug the doubling vocal fee created by the echoes, setting the mood, and
the way you keep the vocals the same dB above the mix even when the
synth kicks in (a little too loudly, perhaps). I also dig the rhythmic
breathing of the instruments, the panning. Perhaps some of the vocal
tracks could have used more panning separation, cuz as the song went
along, the vocals seems in a flatter space than the accompaniment due to
their consistently centered location. But I dug the pacing, the vocal
details, the drama.

Thanks, Tobin! I'm going to revisit this track in a few weeks (after I get a few more comments) and remix according to the feedback. I greatly appreciate your insight and for taking the time to listen to the track. As you are one of the resident gurus here at macjams, I highly value your comments.

Yes, I will tell you... &mdash 04/22/06 - 04:04:05 PM
Awesome job on this one!

This is a very different sound from you, Neal. Very interesting and well-
produced! The vocals are great. I still wonder why you never sang on
your other songs before.

High marks for this for sure.

dark and excellent &mdash 09/07/06 - 02:55:38 PM
Neal, your in your own space musically here. And its a great space to
be. There's so much going on. Absolutely f*cking love the chorus. Its
got traction to spare. That swirling stuttering little synth pad your
working there is so cool. Hope there won't be such a lag between the
next vocal track. Sounds very pro to me

Cool .. &mdash 12/16/06 - 05:29:35 PM
.. excellent strong vocal, good song, particularly catchy chorus, nice structure and use of 'light and shade'.
Glad I stumbled onto this ..have
you heard springclock's stuff I wonder? You have a similar yet quite different styles to me: the absence of guitar in your stuff and a more commercial poppy feel (perhaps
through the use of the other instruments), yet there is
some common ground.

Thanks.

Don't tell me, I just ran across your stuff! Really great production values. The arrangement is spare, but not too spare, clean, but not too clean. The distortion on your vox is great in contrast to the sweetness of the piano. and MAN that chorus kicks a$$. Thx.
