Description:
Hello all, back after a long hiatus, with equipment too. Just a little fun first song with my mic, hope you enjoy!
Lyrics:
It's not like I been sitting around all day,
I took a walk to the 'fridgerator 'bout a past two
Got my self a coke.
Would you pick up some cereal
When you're on your way back from the real world.
See we ran out last night, when I was watching
'The Strange Love Of Martha Ivers.'
See I like Barbara Stanwyck
For her, stoic expressions
She looks like, somebody's about to kill her all the time.
That's what I spend my days,
Thinking about these days,
That's what I spend my days,
Thinking about these days.
Would you pick up a telephone
And give me a ring...
Cuz I been sitting all alone just pondering, what you doin'
I realized you didn't live here no more,
When I went out to get the paper
Saw your New York Times.
I like the post instead,
It's more sensational, inspirational,
Helps me, think about the good times.
Would you come home for just a little while,
Would you come home for just a little,
Just a little while.

Your new mic showcases your voice perfectly. I'm thrilled that you got
it because your talent has ALWAYS warranted it. I genuinely hope you
go back and re-record some of your other tracks because your songs
are always stellar and deserve that last bit of polish that the mic adds.
I love so much about this one, but especially the lyrics and the vocal
layering and harmonies. That Barbara Stanwyck line just...um...kills.
Thanks for coming back! [ Reply to This ]

:) Thanks so much girl! Yeah I'm tempted to delete it all and start over, not sure if that defeats the purpose of "documenting my growth" etc, but more than happy to be back with equipment, also happy to shout out my girl Barbara, we go way back :)

I totally agree with ledebutant; your songs deserved much better recordings and this sounds so much cleaner and deeper than your previous postings. As always, I think you've got a great, sincere singing voice that's really easy for the listener to connect with. Plus nice songwriting and a solid guitar groove. [ Reply to This ]
Nice combo of huomr, satire, contemporary pathos, and detail &mdash 04/18/06 - 07:58:22 AM
You have this great Mick Jagger vocal style. Nice combination of humor,
satire, simple detail and contemporary feel. Really nice track. I heard an
entire band kicking in at the very end to really punch that 2 chord
progression into a Stones frenzy... maybe in your next take? [ Reply to This ]

like the feel of this tune and the guitar really makes a nice backdrop.
Again cool singin, nice backdrop chorus as well.
Good texture in your voice. I nice natural talent.
