Description
In march of 2001 the sun ejected a solar flare so large that it caused scientist to create a new classification to accomodate a flare of such great magnitude....The flare impacted our atmosphere while a friend and I were listening to Coast to Coast AM with Art Bell. Art quickly got on the air and urged everyone to leave their radios and go outside....What my family and I saw when we got outside was one of the most beautiful things we have ever seen. The flare had caused the Northern Lights to be visable from the Pacific to the Atlantic and as far south as Texas. I kept expecting God to peek through the curtain of dancing lights and give us a smile....or perhaps he did....this song is inspired by that night....

Lyrics
closer to me, closer to you
a shot off the bow, the sun is the gun
is this what we have been waiting for
such a site, don't forget
aurora shines from side to side
wake little ones and remember this night
when the sun came out
and changed the stars to roses
in the moment we feel so alive
just look up, it's easy to find
aurora shines from side to side
spectacle spans the whole sky
no words to describe
red reached through magnetic fields
the omnibus takes flight
you will see it come by the light of the night
to find you....
a shot off the bow, the sun is the gun
is this what we have been waiting for
such a site, don't forget
aurora shines from side to side
wake little ones and remember this night
when the sun came out
and changed the stars to roses
in the moment we feel so alive
just look up, it's easy to find
aurora shines from side to side
spectacle spans the whole sky
no words to describe
red reached through magnetic fields
the omnibus takes flight
you will see it come by the light of the night
to find you....

that awesome aurora. I think it's the same one Vac and I saw in 2001 from Seattle... covered over 2/3 of the sky, looked like sheets coming down a tunnel from space. This must be the same one... that was one of the most amazing things I've ever seen. That night was put into our tune Red-Shift. This is a great song, springclock, love that psychedelic vibe and casual delivery of the music and vocals. There's plenty of interesting details in here that keep drawing my attention. Very cool.
