Keywords:
Johnny (15)Katch (11)Katman (2)rock (1142)harmonica (36)slide guitar (11)Katch22 (1)bronco (6)Tom Bronco (1)Tom (5)fun (163)
Description:
Another collaboration with Johnny Katchoolik. This was a fun tune to do and the lyrics were mostly improvised on the fly and are not to be taken too seriously.

Me - Lyrics, vocal, harmonica
Johnny - Everything else

Lyrics:
Alright now! Get it on ! It's a Katch22! You're damned if you do! And you're damned if you don't! That's the problem with you.
Johnny K he knows it. He's just surfing the Web. Looking high and low. He's got to find it. Oh, sweet love, oh sweet, sweet love, buries himself in it. Here it goes now! Taking off again.
Stumbles through the alley. Until the beginning of the end. I can hear him calling oh so sweet in the night.
He knows it's coming, psychedelic delight!. Ahh, ohh, ahhh, ohhh
Spoken:
You see the disjointed functions of the brain cannot always be entitled to the reason that you are here.
Sometimes it all seems meaningless but you know sometimes it;s all too clear. You can joint, you can jumble, you
can rumble, you can tumble. But you always end up back at the same place. It's a Katch22, ah but it's fun!

Amambo, rombo mambo, yeah, arambo, mambo yeah, yeah, yeah!

He's out looking under every rock. Lifts up those branches,he knows where it's not!
But he still keeps on looking. It's a Katch22. But Johnny K. keeps going so why don't you?
Why don't you?

Hardware:
Johnny was using: imac G5, Fender Telecaster,
Fender P-bass, Vox Tonelab,i mic

I was using: eMac G4, Jambone harmonica

Software:
GB3, Live 5, Peak, itunes

This has got a great jazzy blues feel to it...it sounds like you are in the
same room together...enveloped in a late night smoky, tequila haze.
Bronco's vocals have an almost Jim Morrisson feel (circa LA Woman)...in
fact this could be a late period Doors outtake.
Ace guitar work from Mr K too
Nice one guys!

cool.... &mdash 04/22/06 - 06:54:23 PM
laid-back mimosa groove...a bit of jazz improv infused with some folk rock and maybe a tad Creole...usually your lyrics are so contemplative and pensive, so I am quite pleasantly surprised to hear you cut loose and just improvise to the tune...fun and groovy....it has the energy and vibe of a live improv gig in some cosy smoke-filled bar...I am not sure what the katch-22 is here...I thought the only katch Johnny knows is katch-69 :-)
great collab...there is something very katchy in the air, and I hope it will linger for a long time

works for me &mdash 04/22/06 - 07:18:09 PM
Complex and simple at the same time. Moody yet uplifting. Great job.
Rawbone singing and playing.

interesting bronco and katch

This is a pleasant surpise hearing a bronco coming from different angles.

I like how you venture into new bronco territory, that katch type style
brings a nice flair for you bronco. The words get ya think bigtime.

gracias muchachos y muchachas &mdash 04/23/06 - 01:54:14 PM
Thanks to all the folks who listened to this little collab. Mr. Bronco and I had a great time doing these songs together...more to come soon for the hardcore fans out there...haha.

For the people that are still wondering who is playing what:
Bronco did the vocals and harmonica, and I did all the other
stuff. A monkey was used for the drums, and he was hurt
in the process, so I had to put him down.
(This monkey's gone to heaven...la la la.) Fecking Pixies-I love them!

And Dion, thanks for the "kusos", that will go well with my rice.

Cheers
J.K

This is so loose and cool! &mdash 04/23/06 - 06:54:13 PM
I love the guitars and bass and the improvised lyrics... It just sounds fun,
guys...

Really sounds like it could've been a live track in a barn studio
somewhere... Terrific feel...

Hey thanks David! Katchoolik and I have been doing a bunch of songs
together. The first one "Strange Feeling" was listed under Katchoolik. The URL
is here http://www.macjams.com/song/19839. We have two or three more
that are in the works and we will probably alternate where they are posted.
If you want to hear a really hot, high energy rock song, check out the one
Johnny did with Rami La http://www.macjams.com/song/20014. I love it!

Your voice is really impressive! Reminicent of Jim Morrison, so is the song... The playing sounds flawless to me. This is just a great great song! Thank you Bronco and Katchoolik!

Got an R&B Feel From It &mdash 04/30/06 - 03:48:17 PM
but that's cool. It's a great tune and I thought the vocals were especially strong for the vibe. Great jams from J.K. and I don't know if it was a deliberate musical pun on disjointed functions of the brain but I thought it laid out that way and then pulled back together again. Cool stunt whether it was deliberate or not.

Got an R&B Feel From It &mdash 05/01/06 - 09:40:51 PM
Thanks Alan,

The music came first and then the words. So I was improvising the disjointed
functions of the brain over Johnny's solo.
