Description:
A song for all of us who have felt our spiritual legs turn rubbery in the middle of this marathon called life. There's help before His throne and His joy strengthens us. Thank you, Lord, also, for giving me a wife who makes music with me, literally.
Lyrics:
Savior, I cry to You, here on my bed.
Oh, what a day it has been!
Pain and confusion dance ’round in my head.
I need your wisdom again.
Pulled by temptation, and battered by sin,
Jesus, the race feels so long.
But You are my refuge, your joy is my strength.
Give me the faith to press on.
Keep me close through the night. Let me know that You’re near.
Here at the foot of Your throne there is light
To pierce through the darkness and shatter all my fear,
As I walk through the valley of tears.
Keep me strong. Help me fight on. The end of the battle is near.
Soon You’ll return and we’ll meet face to face,
And savor the victory You won when You were here
With us in this valley of tears.

Beautiful and affirming &mdash 04/24/06 - 07:03:21 PM
This is a beautiful song, with a very strong melody. Lovely piano playing.
What I hear is that the key is a little high for the vocalist. She has a great voice, but it is strained here. Transposing the piece down would help with the pitch problems for the higher notes.
Nice job.
Cheers. [ Reply to This ]

Thanks for the encouragement. The amazing thing is, no one played a lick of
piano on this. The piano part (Indeed all parts but guitar and vocals) was written
by Band-in-a-Box 12 (though I tweaked the final result a little).
I think I will take your advice and do the transpose down to A. Also, after
listening, I think the vocal can be backed into the mix just a little. [ Reply to This ]

What a beautiful tune. Fine vocals and harmonies. I do concur with Mr.
charliechen, however, as re the pitch. Nice going you two.
Blessings,

Thank YOU. It's good to receive encouragement from a peer whose musical skill
one admires. May God bless you this year, birthday boy. [ Reply to This ]
Identification with this song &mdash 05/07/06 - 11:59:51 PM
As a person who struggles with daily issues, I identify with this song in
both word and vocal tone. It is a very honest song, prayer really, and I
believe it is this type of song and prayer that will help others as they
travel through their own life. Thank you. You have a good strength in the
vocals but even more emotion would be welcomed. Also feel free to let
the music out louder, it is good to hear both word and musical
arrangement. Thanks again. God Bless. [ Reply to This ]

I've discussed this with my wife. She has a hard time expressing the same
emotion alone in front of a naked mic as she does in a live concert setting. She
hasn't recorded much. We're working on it. Thanks. [ Reply to This ]
