Description:
This song composed Takuboku Ishikawa's "TANKA".
Takuboku Ishikawa is an important person in a modern literary history in Japan.

THOKAINO,
KOJIMANOISONO,
SHIRASUNANI,
WARENAKINURETE,
KANITOTAWAMURU.

This is a Takuboku Ishikawa's"TANKA".
Short poetry "TANKA".
The frequency of the pronunciation of Japanese makes the rhythm.
5、7、5、7、7.
The rhythm of this pronunciation mixes with the content of poetry.
It is a mode of expression of poetry with which it has been familiar
for 1500 years or more.

He left an important footprint in history about a modern "TANKA".
He was born in 1886.
He kept roaming aspiring to literary honors.
He was a life of 26 years.

When Takuboku roamed, this tanka was created.
It is a coast in East Japan far left from the hometown.
White sand is a beautiful coast.
Takuboku felt solitude.
The wave rang quietly by the mind.
I translate the meaning into English.
.................................................................................
Sand of handful

Beach in east coast.
White sand.
Sadness of wandering of life.
Naturally, ..tears...
There is a small beach crab in one's feet.
It is put on the hand the beach crabwhile.
It is solitary feelings.
The beach crab of the hand is watched while crying.

Mcboy,
Guitar player of florida.
I wish to express my gratitude for your comment.

Is the sand of miami beach white?
Does a small beach crab live?
And, do you look at the ocean at the beach?

The east coast in the United States cannot be seen from Japan.
I pray for your happiness.

I take a handful of sand
and build a sandcastle
swim into the horizon, into the setting sun
to become a grain of sand in your hand....

wonderful solo...reminds me of Satriani...great music to drown out the noise...solitude is the best freedom...I like your acoustic ocean

Tadashi - I love this one!

Wonderful guitar Tadashi, that really took off!

I was unable to play the file direct and had to download first - I could
access any other songs in the usual way, just had a problem with
"Sands" - I mention this only if others have similar problems.

Neil,
I wish always to express my gratitude for your comment.

Are sands of Far South Coast beautiful?
Does a small beach crab live?
Is the sea watched?
Do you become solitary?

There is a sea also in my port.
Japan is seagirt.
It is a delicious fish is a lot.

Gentle fireworks along the shoreline &mdash 04/27/06 - 07:50:19 AM
Love the way the guitar explodes, and yet the way the guitar explodes
also seems to live in a separate space at times. I dig this track, in the way
it keeps transcending genres, kind of like an experimental New Age
smooth jazz fusion piece, but there are times that also makes it seem like
a party of friends from different walks of life jamming over lunch (hear
the shoreline), giving it a unique casualness. Thanks for keeping me
listening. Very nice chromatic melody. The track cuts off abruptly, can
you fix that and resubmit? I thought I heard a child calling "Get me out" or
"Let me up" or maybe "Auntie Em" right before the cut off, and I want to
know if the kids drowns or not...

Gentle fireworks along the shoreline &mdash 04/27/06 - 10:02:43 PM
Please do not worry.

The girl in the beach is shouting, "Mother".
The girl has not been drowned.
The treasure of a beautiful beach is found, and it reports to mother.

Children in the beach play with parents.
Perhaps, beautiful shells might have been collected.
Or, the crab in the beach might be found, and it inform mother.

The seaside resort in Japan is a shelving bottom.
Very, sand is beautiful, and green of the pine tree is beautiful.

"Sadness of wandering of life..." &mdash 04/28/06 - 06:03:48 AM
The poem itself has sadness, starting from homesickness and then, I
think, moving toward a greater sadness, the sadness of everyone alive
who feels away from home even if they ARE home, and who also are
aware that someday they will leave...

The music, to my ears, adds another piece, almost an answer. There's a
bluesy feel in there that connotes sadness, but there's also a spirit that
attempts to answer and transcend the sadness, that lives anyway...

As always your basic track is great, and your guitar playing is
expressive and articulate...

Ed

Ed,
Thank you very much.
Sands in Japan are expressed, "White sand, and green pine woods".
It is an average impression of sands in Japan.
Takuboku might have seen the same sands as the hometown.

Hello from Australia &mdash 04/29/06 - 08:07:52 AM
I feel so fortunate that I saw sand of handful and have had the pleasure of
hearing this. The begining made me feel kinda sad almost like I was a
child and then gradually as your music moved so did it grow and also
made the child in me feel not so sad anymore , just a little fearful of
growing, well that is how I feel listening to this piece...I love the sea and
the music made me think of the waves as the rush in and build up and
float back out and also how in life many want more then their hand can
hold ...wow your guitar play is sooo expressive and impressive, beautiful
thankyou Tadashi Togawa kind regards Laine*
