Description:
Havn't uploaded anything for a while and found this in the valts the other day. First song I ever had recorded (and ever got the tape from it).Back in high school I was in a band with some mates called Bandy 'n' Akimbo and we just basically had fun with this and although we didn't always play to our audience, we were relatively well recieved and were even asked to write a song for end of our last year of high school (we finished at yr10 in that state). I wrote the music to this (listened more to Ben Folds at that time... didn't even know about Tool) and we had guest singers write the lyrics for it and it went down really well, our music teacher even managed to get us some time to record it at the local College (yr11 & 12) which was a cool experience... and I've got no idea what they actually used to record or mix this stuff. Anyway... I'm on piano, my mate Nick is on guitar, Tristan in on the drums... and the guests are Mel on vocals... and 3 miscelanous yr9s doing vocals, bass guitar and percussion... can't remember thier names for the life of me. And we've all about 15 or 16 years old at this stage... the guy mixing was probably closer to 18 or something I guess. |

I like the vocal melody a lot and the keys are very smooth. I do find the added percussion a little distracting though. My only major complaint is that I think it's a tad on the long side - it could do with a little bit of editing.
Thanks for sharing this - it's just so much different from your other stuff - provides a nice contrast and highlights your great versatility.
