	Don't bother... ...about the quality. This is a beautiful song that might need some "carpet instruments" in order to make it sound kind of "arranged". The structure is a simple but effective one. I don't think you sing all too bad! Check out my latest song called Can't Let Go (w rschletty)

Don't bother...
thx for the tip and comment .. it was done very quick and simply
(there's rather obvious mistakes in the guitar and vocal part - "time" being
out of tune!.. and I took most of the recording time to get the vocals down ... I
usually only ever do backing vox for obvious reasons ... but it's fun trying.

I liked the stuff your doing with rchletty - now, he has a good voice.

I'll come back to this one later on .. I have my 'finger in many pies' ...

	Great feel to it Really enjoyed the chords/guitar work the lyrics were good but the vocals were not at the same level as the rest of the song. maybe the effects? But still a good tune. You could really build this one up. Check out my latest song called The One and Only

cheers - the guitar sound is, in all honesty not really intentional .. I just
play about with mastering with that AUCompressor thang .. and ta da!
I really am new to using Garageland ...!

It's been mentioned it sounds metallic .. it's not recorded mic'd .. that
might help .. otherwise, I think with my Yamaha APX-8A .. that's what I'll
get ...but it suits my percussive purposes ...

to ... nope, never but I like that heaps, as Uriah used to say .. is it the song
sentiment, the picked guitar that sounds a bit phaserish or the combination?- it
cannae be the vocal ye mean ... it 'ain't the length for sure! Damn it man .. what
is it!! ;oD

WELL
Thanks! Simple is best is my motto .. I gave up trying to be a 'flash' player
after about 3 years of playing and decided to leave that to someone else and
focus on writing instead - that, and the fact nobody else I knew at the time
seemed to be able to come up with anything.

The only thing I want to try adding to this is a piano part and maybe some
'yeah, yeah, yeah' yeah's .. ;oD - and of course sack me on lead vocals.

I get bored very easily and have a very short ...... er, concentration span -
hence I fire out some short 1min things here and there before I want to take
5mins of people's lives ;oD - you would just have got bored with it, trust me.

Perhaps I should consider adverts ... nah, maybe not.

This is me 'as raw as I would ever let anyone hear me' ... I may do a
complete version of this later on - with full instrumentation. This is
how alot of my tunes start .. apart from the electric guitar ones ;oD

Really? Cheers breezer- I will get back to this one later ... interesting to have
quite a mixed bag of opinions about my vocals .. personally I usually like to
mix them just to the point you should still just about be able to make out
what's being said .. eg. see: Where's there's a will.

I think for me the thing is, I am well aware I am not a singer in the true sense
.. as 'my voice' has quite limited application ...also
I can 'get away' with it after many takes .. to achieve any consistency/quality
for vocals live I had to rehearse for about 2 months (about eight 1 hr
sessions).. no kidding- not the case for my guitar skills .. and singing at the
same time as playing guitar usually just forced me to simplify what I played
on guitar.

I believe you are too kind ;oD May I enquire if you also thought I sounded
'american'?

seemed worthy of a new airing .. done like this
deliberately to show what I sound like pretty raw/naked ..

it is by no means finished. I'll come back to this with other instruments,
percussion etc in time.

Either I need to practice some piano playing first .. ;oD or find some nice tinkler
willing to help ...

	... thanks very much. There was a fair bit of adjusting, tweaks done here and there to this over several years - which of course doesn't show. I would love to have this re-voiced as a piece for piano and some strings, cello. Something to try playing myself and penciling alot ..unless I can find an able and willing pianist. 	Just been listening to Henri Roger's piano post and thought I'd check out the original. Very nice song. I think your vocal sounds great on this; is that a phaser effect on your vocal? .. hmm.. checks file: there's a "flanger" on the vocals .. if I recall correctly part of the idea of the approach for this recording was to 'do as little as possible' in the production .. and snap a kinda naked recording in some way, if you see what I mean. As such, I think I chose a "pop vocal" GBv3 preset, which I think comes with that flanger effect .. and I just rolled with it... with some minor mods it appears.

Henri's version I couldn't be more happy with .. if your
