Description:
The second of my hang out songs. Another old one that finally got the demo treatmaent. My first LogicPro track.

Lyrics:
There's not one straight line in the Blue Note Cafe
But there are more dreams there
Than any where I know
We fill up the cracks of our lives with the stuff those dreams are made of
I should know
Thats why I go

Sing for us all Sing for your soul

George has every smart remark any fool could deserve
And each one is like a slap in the face
He loves the hours, but hates the job
And if you didn't know better you swear it was his place

Andy's a skinhead, but now he has hair, too
And he's going to England when the government cheques roll in
Roz is off for the sea and sunshine
And everybody seems to come back here again

Sing for us all Sing for your soul
Sing for supper and your table change
Short change

Mom stays cool behind the register
Balancing the good nights and juggling bad
Dad runs the spot light and smiles for the customers
the customers are never sad

the customers say.......

more great stuff team....love the noirness of it all...and the vocal is
really the best one i've heard from you...the general recorded sound is
good, a bit boomy in the acoustic bass, but that's about all i can hear
that seems distracting...

You really write great material, and you SELL it...very soulful,
bro....heheheh...plus i think I gigged there in the late 80's.....

Very well done &mdash 07/22/07 - 06:17:49 PM
Excellent chord structure and melody. Vocals are well done.
As for Zitis reference to gigging there in the 80s, Landreth might very well be referring to the Blue Note in Winnipeg.
Whatever Blue Note the song is in reference to, the song is excellent - guitar fills and solo are very good.

Right you are, Norm... &mdash 07/26/07 - 12:50:34 AM
The Blue Note in Winnipeg is the cafe I wrote about. I was a regular for many years, and spent a lot of time on the stage there. We had a Sunday night slot for a number of years in the Deluxe Chance Band, too. You can never go back....
