Description
slightly different version of a track I uploaded previously. I've changed the drums, added some more keyboards and shortened the middle eight.

This piece blows!
No it doesn't blow at all, actually! It's great! The title of this comment is
supposed to be a humorous reference to your recent comment in the
"unwanted comments" thread. Anyway, I read your thread entry and
decided to check out your music, and I'm glad I did. It's got a really
smooth, pollished feel. The only aspect of it that I was not crazy about
was the tone quality of a riff that comes in periodically--it sounds like a
high-ish slap funk bass sound. It's basically fine, but it sounds a lot
"edgier" than all of your other timbres, which blend smoothly. Buth this is
minor; on the whole, a fine piece! 9-9-9-9

hot loops houlihan!
Welcome to Macjams! Sounds like you are not only having a lot of fun
with Garageband, but also doing quite a good job of integrating all the
various loops into a cohesive whole... a very difficult task. My two
critiques are that (1) over time, you will find that you can change what
instrument plays a "stock loop", thus giving it your own flavor and
keeping GB-junkies from saying "eh, there's THAT loop again", and (2)
the ending seemed to go for a few too many bars without anything
changing to give it interest, so it began to get repetitive... possibly
partway into the ending, fading in/out some other percussive or
instrumental twinkly bits might help.

a very cool track
I agree with CC, that wah guitar that comes in periodically is so
separate in space from the rest it kind of stands out too much. A great
groove, very smooth instrumentation, funky syncopated lushness. Did
you use GB for all of this? the drums sound real time. again great effort

a very cool track
Yeah - mainly GB. I do like the wah guitar, but yeah I think the mix could still be
a bit smoother. The immediacy of Garageband is fantastic but since I've been
using it i've been so exicted I've maybe rushed to get things done. Years ago
when I was in a band we'd spend days mixing songs - even just for a demo!

Evocative and moody
Nice work. You've set a great mood with this piece. And you've titled your instrumental work here wonderfully. (Sometimes song titles of instrumentals seem rather arbitrary).

Insteresting discussion so far about that wah guitar. If you like it, you should keep it. Perhaps you could change the loop that uses it to vary what that instrument plays. It does seem to play the same thing everytime it comes in.

If you are still fiddling with this and are willing to work on it some more, I also hear some vocals in this. Not lyrics, but just some ahh singing or chanting in some parts. There are some great vocalists here at MJ's and you've created a greast soundbed for a singer to ad lib over.

Alannah is one such artist and her home page can be found here.

Well done.
