Lyrics
She marched into my church in 4/4 time
Drew on the stained glass asked if I mind
Fingertips in steam dance through the grime
Words still find me here on damp, cold nights

Oh no, what was I?

You're out of my league
Out of my mind
When out of season
You're so hard to find
Don't follow my lead through all these mines
Got so many reasons to leave you behind
Now what was I?

Preaching to the choir drinks like wine
I can't keep you here so I won't try
Shooting up the breeze only kills time
I've said it all before now it's got life

(Chorus)

Emptiness consumes a heavy mind
This giant vacuum's caving in my eyes

(Chorus)

like this
Like how you set up this whole tune, Like how it is so subtle at the start.
Love how you do those apreggios on the guitar and how they are well they
are planted. Your use of all the other instruments are quite situated.
This has that popular pop rock radio sound which love.

Way to go.
Thanks for sharing this gem.

If only all sadness could be so fun
Very catchy tune, and very nice guitar groove, but I really like your use
of words in the lyric, which is mainstream with a twist of unique word
placement. I like the vocal performance and the judicial use of backing
harmonies, and pacing in the arrangement. The main problem in my
ears is the percussion. In the opening, there are these effects ladened
hits in the right ear which seem kind of random; and your later use of
syncopation in the drum kit, which I general like, sometimes aren't
sync'd in perfectly and thus seem out of step, especially in the first
chorus; but my sense is if it were a real drummer he would make better
use of the trap and use less tambourine (and if it were a real
tambourine, there would be more shakes and less hits). But a nice alt
rock jilted love tune with a retro happy feel.

Nice pop sensibility
Echo the sentiments of some others, but would add that I especially like
the feel of the bridge. It hits stride and has the most energy. It's a little
slow going at first for my taste; maybe hit the pocket sooner? Good luck
and keep going!

Smooth
Very nicely produced tune and an excellent arrangement. My only
complaint would be a little less reverb on the vocal so it would be
clearer. This song has such sweet lyrics that you want folks to be sure
and hear them. Another great job from the DE's.
