Lyrics
End of the world.
Is it what we've come down to?

Black smoke, black heat, black night
Is taking me somewhere wrong
I can't deny what I see with my eyes
My eyes see...

I see wrong
I see right
I see gray lines
No one knows how to cross
And come back again

End of the world.
Is it what we've come down to?

nice simple doomy riff. I'm a sucker for a good riff. well done. Oh and nice ozzy vocals too, very bluesy. The only criticism i'd make is the guitar is panned too far right so the song sounds unbalanced. You could try "double tracking" the guitar by duplicating the guitar track and then have it play very slightly behind the first one and pan it to the left. This would fatten up the sound. there is a lot of hiss too, maybe you are recording too hot - watch the level as you record and make sure it doesn't go into the red area. keep them coming!

Your feedback (and advice) nails it. I love Ozzy and was going for that dark feel. Appreciate your suggestions. I've been in studios with former bands but never tried to do it myself. Just learning how to get it working was a minor miracle, but man is it addicting. Any advice on software, plugins, etc. to complement basic Garage Band? Thanks again.

I use a plug in called Amplitube - it simulates a guitar rig and is very adaptable. You can use it alongside all the guitar effects in garageband. I also use a drum machine which comes as a plug in. It's called iDrum by glaresoft ( or m-audio in the uk). It's great fun and allows you to mess around and create your own beats and not have to rely on the apple loops.

Frogwater?
Listen, man....I used to go see a band in the Chicago suburbs that ROCKED OUT. Are you the lead singer? I used to say, "When Ozzy dies, this guy'll step in and no one will know." I also remember the guitar player in your band was a little overwieght but still very attractive, oh, and a good player. What happened to you guys? And why didn't you have any songs this good in your playlist?
