thoughts from the bull... funny, woke up, got online, tapped into the chat and saw this link. my typical morning flavor for music is Jazz. a little Miles, a little Mingus... but this is what i was led to. i cannot critique the song based on structure or instrumentation, because i don't know enough about jazz to be dangerous. i can only comment based on subjective emotional response. my first thought is, it's way too short. boy, this one just got going for me and it ended. seriously, this could've gone on for another ten minutes and i'd have been just fine with it! second, it's a terrific tune to dig into early on a Sunday morning. a bit sporatic, with some wonderful bits of movement and jingling effects going on. the overall vibe is both cool and off-center (in being that it's not exactly positive and upbeat, but not exactly negative and downbeat either). this is a perfect tune for making breakfast. the slightly frantic rush of timing the eggs with the toast... hehe! but more seriously, you've got a great feel for this style of music. i'm looking forward to more! but please, in the future, consider doubling the time of this one. i agree with BLAMM... perhaps expanding on this one will take it somewhere you never expected! thank you! I agree, too short Lots of interesting things going on. Lots of interesting syncopation throughout. You should really take the themes you have started out with here and run with them. Check out my latest song called Feeling Good Today

Yes You have a very special and unique compositional voice; a real gift. I always find your music to be very attractive and interesting. However, as others have said, this piece ends suddenly, as if you just got tired of it or something, and the idea that comes in around the middle kind of gets stuck--it repeats many, many times, almost as if you weren't sure what to do next. I would LOVE to hear you try something longer, and perhaps consider the idea that repetition in music is a time-honoured and necessary tradition, but so is variation; the great composers would often change little things when they repeated material. By the way, do ever read these comments? There is never any response, so I'm not sure! Check out my latest song called Scarlet Nightfall

Cool tune. You've got some great sounds going in this thing. You know, I
think a lot of people ruin their songs with unnecessary panning, but your
subtle panning really works...the drums hypnotize you with the gentle
swaying left to right and back again. My only complaint is that it's too
short...you should expand on it and take it somewhere else as it
progresses...love it.
