I know you mention this already, but this is clearly a backing track as
opposed to an instrumental piece. There isn't enough going on
melodically in your instrumental arrangement to keep the listener for
long. It'll be fine once you get some vocals together for it. You're clearly
quite the musician. Solid playing all around. It's difficult to comment on
song structure at this point. I'd suggest grabbing an acoustic guitar or
undistracting synth lead and noodling out a melody. It'd make a big
difference for the song, and give it the necessary structure to make it feel
like the song is going somewhere. I hope my comments haven't been to
obtuse to be useful.

This will be a good track for your song. Maybe add a tad more bass to
the line, and also maybe an acoustic guitar to set the feel at the beginning
before the soloist comes in with the good sounding solo! Sounds good,

Thanks man, yeah i realised just after i mixed it down that i'd totally neglected the bass! There isn't a bass in the whole song! :) oops
