Lyrics
TRADITIONAL (Ruby Jakes):

She's there at the bar every evening
Face powdered and cheeks painted red
Her beauty has faded too early
Brought on by the fast life she led

She's more to be pitied than scolded
She needs to be loved, not despised
Too much beer and wine, too many good times
The lure of the honky tonk wrecked her young life

She once was the belle of the ballroom
She'd made some man a sweet wife
But too many parties, the wrong kind of pals
Ruined her happy young life

You guys should...
be doing movie soundtracks. You have a sound that harkens back to the
20's. I like all of your music you've posted.

Thanks!

Awesome
Man, good stuff. I am going to download this and let my family hear it.
They are huge fans of bluegrass and they play and sing it also. This is
probably the best song I've heard on this site so far. Good mix, good
words, great production and sound. I am reminded of sitting with my
grandfather and playing. We do that often. Good job, I rarely use the
word awesome on this site.

Shades of "Oh Brother"
Great song, well performed....I can tell you guys are real pros...Definitely
ready for prime time...The tight vocals remind me of some of the stuff
Disney did back in the 50's and 60's with their wild west
animations....Peace, Norman

I . . .
can't say that I listen to much bluegrass, but the musicianship in this
piece is top-notch--the vocals especially. Your production is flawless
as well. I've never had to do so, but I can only imagine how hard it is to
mix five instruments and multiple vocal tracks that well.

Superb!

P.S. The cover art is poetry by itself, an awesome photo.

brilliant musicianship and excellent vocals all wrapped up in a fine and

Oh my!
How on earth did I miss this? It was even dedicated to the barroom trilogy (I can hardly take sole credit but it was an amazing surprise to see the dedication). This song is incredible. Your group is incredible. I came to your page because I wanted to hear some of your wonderful music. Been missing listening to music lately (lots going on in my life) and this is just the thing I needed. Fantastic lyrics, great musicianship, and fantastic vocals. You guys have got it all, my friend. Yowza! You're wonderful!
