Rock and Roll Jam &mdash 05/14/06 - 03:53:21 PM
John,
Enjoyed the jam!
Your Guitar Playing increases in quality, diverseness and overall ability.
I really liked the song and some of the mix as well (right speaker pan)
You are coming into your own, the distortion fit perfectly.
I try not to compare songs to bands but a Pearl Jam/Neil Young &Crazy Horse sound is in the air here! Great Job!
Look forward to the next song! [ Reply to This ]

Hi David and thanks for posting your impressions of the song. I think I got inspired after listening to Neil Young's Living With War about 10 times! This tune was put together in a hurry, only around 4 hours to compose and record, so it's a little rough around the edges. I think lyrics would add something, but I'm not a singer (at least not one that you would want to hear).
Thanks again. [ Reply to This ]
Good guitar &mdash 05/14/06 - 10:58:33 PM
Nice guitar. Good right and left pan mix. Maybe a little different beat on
the drum, more of a mix up of themes. Good job. [ Reply to This ]

Thanks, glad you enjoyed it. Your observation on the drums is well taken. I really haven't put in enough effort there. So far I've just been creating the percussion sounds using the standard GB drum kits and a midi keyboard. I'll keep working on it.
Thanks again for the comments. [ Reply to This ]
A Neil feel for sure &mdash 05/16/06 - 08:59:01 AM
Ten listens to Mr. Young and then to the recording booth. It is a great start to something yet not fully (?) conceived and finished. But the guitar riffs of yours set the stage for more of something good. I'll keep an eye out. [ Reply to This ]

Appreciate your compliments on the guitar sound. I was probably in a little too much of a rush to get this one posted, though. Every time I listen to it I think of ways it could be better. Thanks for listening and commenting. [ Reply to This ]
