Beautiful &mdash 05/16/06 - 04:31:01 PM
Sounds a bit more intimate than the earlier version - must be the
acousticness of it...
But, yeah, this is beautiful!

Very, very pretty. &mdash 05/16/06 - 06:33:45 PM
And very present into the bargain. Nicely recorded. Simple. Not overdone.

That 'hint of percussion' is just about right.

For all that it's acoustic, it reminds me a little of some of the extended
Duane and Dicky jams where they'd get quiet and pretty. Also reminds me
for no reason I can figure, of Bread's ancient ballad, "Make It WIth You".
Go figure.

Great job &mdash 05/17/06 - 02:55:41 AM
Really smooth song. Awesome acoustic playing and capturing of the
sound is well done. Leave it like is, it is a great arrangement.

Nice mellow acoustic, lots of feeling. Great Job.

soft and relaxing &mdash 05/17/06 - 08:38:33 PM
nit picks first... I actually was a little distracted by the shakers being
panned off to the far L/R, I'd have preferred them to be (1) close to
center, and (2) have a break here and there, they were too repetitive. The
guitar playing was delightful, mellow, and as always, you make the hard
stuff sound so effortless, kudos!

Drakonis

Just lovely. &mdash 05/17/06 - 10:13:46 PM
Your mix is like an aural jewel, gently sparkling and glimmering. What a great performance. Thanks for this beautiful piece.

Some great playing, Fran! Sounds awesome. That catnip worked wonders.

Nicely played.. &mdash 05/18/06 - 12:10:34 PM
the overall sound is a bit too "ez listening" for my taste, but it is clearly well played.

what I really liked &mdash 05/18/06 - 05:04:26 PM
about this one is that while this style of guitar always threatens to
become the theme song for an afternoon cooking show, this piece
managed to hand me plenty of riffs I wasn't expecting but still retained
the melodic approach.

This is how this stuff should sound.

Great Sound &mdash 05/18/06 - 09:16:00 PM
Melodic and soulful at the same time! I like both versions and it is
amazing how different a song can sound with a change of instruments
and a little different arrangement. Excellent tone on the guitar. Very
pleasant and enjoyable listen.

Do you use all 6 strings this time ... &mdash 05/22/06 - 03:34:17 PM

.. or did I just imagine it? ;oD

Very mellow and soothing and perfect
accompaniment to my first glass of Melini Chianti ....

Co-lab? pffft - no space ... all you need is perhaps some light
'carpet' instruments - try mint01 ... it just doesn't need anything.

Joking aside - I agree with Drakonis and Snowdragon's points and
can only add the percussion sounded a bit Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac
Albatros in spots ... but but what the heck, "if the suit fits (wear it)" ..
pay no heed .. I feel a song coming on .. nah ;oD

Being a cat in pref to dog type person, I like the dooby dooby dubious
catnip thang ... ;oD .. although my catnip days are over ....

If you need a chi-ching somewhere, I'm your man ziti .. just don't
call me.

drifted off &mdash 06/07/06 - 06:41:30 AM
I usually pay attention to production as I listen because it's one of our
first criteria at MJ... but your performance superceded any of those
considerations... I had to go back and listen again... you passed the
audition
