Description:
20-layer Garageband glory (midi and pencil tool; sample: "synth array"). I kept the volume low to maintain the full range in the midtones, so feel free to turn up the volume.

This is fantastic. &mdash 05/16/06 - 09:49:52 PM
The imagery I got from this was of a safari, or even of an sailboat sailing through the carribean in search of adventure. At certain points it even reminded me of Miami Vice. Great energy in the percussion. I loved the latin guitar style towards the end as the piece became a more ominous. Everything blended so well, I didn't even notice the synth array loop.
Looking forward to more, thanks for sharing.

B.

Beautiful Picture &mdash 05/17/06 - 04:46:35 PM
Beginning reminds me a bit of a less frenetic version of Narada Michael
Walden's percussion opening on the M. O.'s "All in the Family". Very good
tune here, excellent instrument selection on the midi and excellent
production, especially the audio clarity and use of stereo space.

I'll check that out. Thanks, Mungo. I'm happy you like the quality of the producion...always trying to improve on that, but it's encouraging to hear generous comments like yours!

Great groove, colour &mdash 05/17/06 - 05:03:12 PM
I'm really enjoying this. Conjures up lots of different images; has this
seemingly inexorable energy moving ever forward. I particularly like
the metric play of the opening section (was it groups of 3 followed by
one of 4, repeated?); whatever it was, it created a lopsided metric feel
that I love. Subsequent sections were very nice too -- I especially like
the sudden darker mood that comes in slightly past the half-way point
-- but, as far as i could hear, it settled into a more regular metric
groove, which works great, but for me was slightly less
interesting, just because I was hoping the occasional adding of extra
beats would continue.

Nevertheless, I really, really like this! Looking forward to hearing more
of your stuff!

Magic piece, superb musician &mdash 05/18/06 - 12:00:35 PM
Why every time I listen to a piece by "Parichayaka" I feel inspired, awed by
his imagery, his composition skills, his rhythms? Aspiration and absolute
lack of depression or negative emotions. At the end of the piece, silence,
the silence of the highest mountain. Bravo, Parichayaka!

l guess a comment like that reflects not only the music but also the listener's capacity to visualize and interpret music, adding depth and meaning to a piece. Could any musician ask for more?! Too generous...thanks a lot, Priyadarshan!

quality stuff .. &mdash 05/22/06 - 05:30:30 PM
.. I liked this - like basil81 the first thing that strikes you is hearing this
blend of safari with some sea-faring aspect I can't put my finger
on....which is a pleasing and refreshing idea.

Started to drag a little bit for me in the run up to the end - the ac. guitar
in combo with the more ethnic/afro celt sounds but .. overall still very
good!

I'm not exaggarating when I say that you're becoming one of my favorite
MJers.
I just love the imagery in all of your work. You make it so easy for me to
create huge environments where the landscape just basks in the sounds
of your music.
Yet another great piece!

That's great. Thanks a lot Einarus! A post wouldn't be complete without you stopping by. The fact that I can say the same thing about your music makes me feel a little more comfortable about a comment like that. Cheers!

Good sonic spread.... &mdash 06/18/06 - 05:56:43 PM
Good realism, sounds true. The dynamics offer lots of headroom for the guitar liks. Good job!

Glad you picked up on that. I did try to create an expansive soundscape, especially with the guitar part. Thanks a lot!

Kodachrome saturation &mdash 06/20/06 - 11:35:40 AM
World travel flavors. Andies, Alps, Pyrenees, Himalayan mountain
ascents. African and Southwestern U.S. deserts treks. Fast new
monorail coursing along old slow Great Wall of China. This will work
for an Imax widescreen presentation. Flying over saturated landscapes.
Achieving full bloom.

I've decided to start collecting your comments and sell them as poetry books under your name. Then I'll take the pages and frame them individually.
