Koffee Korner Kafe

Description
Its your favorite coffee shop. It feels as comfortable as an old pair of jeans. You flirt with the waitress, she flirts back. The cappucino maker hisses. You pour the cream in your coffee and, as the "clouds" form in the coffee, you wonder what life with her would be like.

Nice vibe
Some surprising key changes kept me interested. I like the mix of sounds you're using here. Are you playing the organ yourself? I really enjoyed the performance.

I think the piece could use a little dynamic variety. It sounded like it was pretty much all at one level throughout, which gave it a little bit of a computery sound. I hope that makes sense.

RE:Nice vibe
Thanks for being the first to comment on the piece and thanks for listening.
This is an early piece that I did in GB. Originally the guitar carried the whole
melody with the organ just as backing instrument but when I split the melody
into a call and response the track began to really work for me and I developed
it along those lines. About dynamic range...I wanted an overall smooth feel to
this piece so a lot of dynamic shifts wouldn't feel right to me. Or maybe I've
spent too long listening to commercial production music where a big dynamic
range really doesn't work very well. I've posted another song called "Walking
on the moon" that you might like as well and more will be posted soon.
Thanks for your kind comments.

krazy kool
I was there in that very same Koffee shop, Man, if you did this with
loops in GB, thats impressive as hell. Just a choice collection of sounds
masterfully spliced together. the beck and call nature of the
arrangement, along with the progression works seamlessly throughout.
keep em coming. that one "oooahhmmm" repeating at the end was
dialed into my own private TM signal.

RE: krazy kool
Thanks for the kind words. Loops in GB is all I used. I love to take some of the
Midi loops and see what I can do with them by changing instruments, and
playing with the velocity, the chord structure, sustain, etc to come up with
something interesting. I'm glad you like it. Check out my other cuts uploaded
soon.

Great organic use of loops. I'm really impressed with what you
managed to do here. Inspiring--thanks for sharing it.

Sounds Good
Mr. Brophy your BIO states you have no musical experience? Is that
true? Sounds like you can put it together to me. I liked this tune and I
can picture myself in the café as you describe. I wonder did you learn
much from your father musically? I have a 13 year old son and we like
to play guitar together and I hope some of my music ability rubs off.
We%u2019ll have to wait and see. Nice job and welcome to MacJams. Thanks
for sharing.

Sounds Good
Thanks for your comments. Can't PLAY a note, but I guess that being around
music all my life ... even before I was born ... may have given me more than
the average love of the art. Your talk of playing guitar with your son brings
back one of my biggest dissapointments as a kid. I had to tell my dad that I
did not want to take any more music lessons. I don't know if it hurt him, but
it hurt me to admit it. I sent him a CD of some of my GB jams and he liked
them. He even said that Mozart was great at taking other peoples riffs and
making a piece of of them. So, maybe 43 years after dissapointing him (and
myself), I've redeemed myself. Hope you have fun playing with your son.

Yeah...
I used many ofd these loops, but not as an Organ. Sounds really cool like this. What amazes me after 2 years of playing with GB is how someone else can take the same loops and take it to their own place. Awesome!

RE:Yeah...
I agree that using the loops in different ways with different instruments is fun
and it makes listening to other people's work interesting as well. Kind of like
having sex with a different person. It is somehow the same ... but somehow
different as well. Since I have been married for more than 30 years (and
faithful) I have made the previous statement not from firsthand experience
but from what I imagine. ;-) Thanks for your comments and keep listening.

Thanks ... I've never been good at flirting in real life. Maybe I'm making up for
it here.
