Description:
I had this little diddy stuck in my head all day, so I came home and recorded it.

One cut for each track, 40 min of total work. In other words: a rough cut.

Maybe I'll make a 'true' version someday.

Rough but promising &mdash 05/17/06 - 08:00:06 PM
Obviously, needs some work, as you suggested. There are some good
possibilities here. Good attack on the picking and strummin. Try to
make it less repetitive by mixing in other chords. I only hear two.

rough &mdash 05/17/06 - 08:05:29 PM
rough takes are always the best. some nice picking. it's got a good start. definately rough, the fast picking could use some work. some vocals would work well with this piece once you get it flushed out.

Needs work &mdash 05/17/06 - 10:23:19 PM
As you said it's a rough. So here go my cooments.

First tune the guitar. The tone is good maybe a little boomy. Since
you have various guitars playing they need some way to separate from
the mix. Panning or changing the EQs of one of the guitars.
Strumming instruments to the sides lead instruments front and center.

If you're not comfortable using the metrenome feature try laying down
a "drum loop" scratch track, that just plays along for x number of
measures. That way you could add stuff, in time, and give it a more
polished feel.

I know it's hard to get all the notes in, but with the editing options
available you could slice and dice the lead part from multiple takes and
make it into one nicely flowing piece.

Keep at it, jewels start out rough too.

The guitar doesn't sound in tune to you? Maybe I'm losing my ear...

Good job &mdash 05/18/06 - 01:09:24 PM
At certain points, this sounds out of tune, but overall it is good. The
strumming falls out of time in many places, so make sure to keep in time
throughout. No matter how great you play, if you are out of tune or out
of beat, it will not sound well done. Other than that it is a very promising
tune. Good job. The guitar has a good sound.

There is something in this my friend,a good feel but very strained.I
would try again w/ multiple tracks to accomplish the guitar melody you
have rollin' along your noggin'.Polish and,.......... then display!

ehh true versions are over rated lol. having it stuck in your head all day is a good reason to record happens to me sometimes. i think it sounds good. often the best songs come out of a good half an hour of work.
