Lyrics

come on, morning bring
all your welcome news...
i know better things
are on their way...

just let the empty threats
all curl and dry...
we'll soon forget...
-turn and smile...

in loves' sweet decay...

come on midsummer...
let your wandering light
brighten this/room to slight effect...

maybe some new decor
is what we're waiting for...

Nice tune...
as usual! You sure know how to write a catchy tune. Vocals are perfect,
as is the mix from where I sit.

great again
Another great work. Your lyrics are always supurb. I could go on and on
about what's right about this but that's all obvious. So I'll point out one
criticism: the vocals seem just a little too isolated in the mix. Perhaps
they need to come down just a bit or maybe something else needs to
come up to meet them more. Perhaps the drums could come up. It's a
small adjustment whatever it is that is needed.

Oh, and a nit: the sound at the end just cuts off. Let the instruments
finish before you cut it.

Wonderful
Wonderful lyrics, as always. What I like about your lyrics is that they
are poetry -- they make you think, they move you, and there is usually
some kind of enigma there. They make sense.

I agree with pgreenstone that the vocal(s) seem a bit too isolated from
the instruments, but only a bit. I know nothing about recording
techniques, so I'm afraid I can't offer any possible suggestions for that.

It felt to me that the ending should be decaying in some way... you're
repeating the words "in love's sweet decay," so I think it might be
worth a try to start thinning things out, gradually, as this is going on
(loosing the vocal harmony, decreasing the activity level of the guitar
accompaniment; whatever you can think of). Differenet strokes for
different folks, so it's fine if you don't like this idea.

My other idea is not to end with such a conclusive chord -- the guitar
ends with a V-I cadence, which is how most music ends, but there was
something about the feel of this song that made me think a less
conclusive cadence might work well, like ending on a IV chord, maybe.

Great tune.

Wonderful
good idea c.c---i hate fade-outs in general, but your idea about decreasing
the elements of the mix is a good one-i never think about that stuff and yeah,
i've been going through a spell of elevated vocals---i think i submitted a
song where they were too low and now i'm over-reacting-thanks for all your
comments-rawk on!

nice singin and
playin!

You have a very good natural sounding voice. Of course you must hear
that or something similar but it is true.

Cool sounds!

Way to go!

I agree with Pgreenstone and Composerclark about the ending...
but overall, this was another great jonx tune.

Very nice
Good voice. Music and vocals match well together in this song. Could
even boost the music a bit, but other than that it is a great song.

Absolutely gorgeous!!
i loved the first decor very much, but hey, the new version is also
absolutely gorgeous!! do you play all the instruments by yourself? i
always love the guitar sounds and the subtle drum sounds in your
music, and this one wasnt an exception.

i cant believe someone actually rated so low in originality/criativity,
who obviously did not pay attention on your beautiful words. but
anyway, you wouldnt care less rating system anyway....

ive been sick in bed for a week now but your song felt to me like a
fresh breathe coming in my bedroom. hopefully, i would be able to get
a real fresh air this weekend.

Jonx, you have such a tranquil and resonating vocal. Great job on the
backing tracks and the especially the back up voices. Lyrically as
strong as ever.

Hey!....
...this almost feels like I could have been playing on this one - excellent
stuff. I like it when I hear the singer with clarity - nice to hear the
drummer doing his thing but not overdoing it - tasty backing vocals -
nice "air" in this song. Jolly good music mate! :-) Reminds me of a song I
did called "redemption". Hmm, I gotta upload that song here I think.
