I'm left full of questions...
I hope that's okay... - So are you singing or rapping the main chorus or
is this scratching of some other artist(s) - And is he saying 'rock the
beat with your hands' - If so, that would bring it all together for me -
Maybe consider posting the lyrics - And the other question is, is it
more than one tune that your scratching? I'm trying to understand
more so that I don't say something stupid (if I haven't already) - You
had a nice beat going there - I don't know who or what to praise, or
not... Help! -

Keep making music - Dion

I'm left full of questions...
Each track is a break or segment of the record that I used to create the rhythm
for this song. There was no live intruments, synths or anything. It all came
from vynil. I basically used the turntables as the instrument to lay down each
track.

The "rock the beat" voice is an old LL Cool J song. The other parts where
parts of a drum, a guitar pluck, and various sounds that sounded good to cut
with.

Sorry for the confusion. I suppose I should put more info on the songs I put
on.

cool!
Nope. 2 Turntables. Thats it.
All the tracks were not recorded live of course but each track was made with
vynil.

this song "rocks the beat"...... great job mixing those breaks! it's hard to believe you're just a beginner..... with a little more practice, you'll be unstoppable!

ha!
this is interesting.....
the cuts are well done, a little off beat, but none the less, very nice.
how do you get the sound from your turntables to the computer?
i try to do that by put my computer's built in mic next to the speakers.
not so good.
good work!

ha!
I used a usb/rca converter for it. You can get them pretty cheap and they work well. I also use a stand alone recorder to help with the timing on the tracks. It was basically a mixture of equipment and hardware.

No offense...
But way too much confusion too me. Not saying its bad, but not great either. Either way, I wish I could do some stuff like this.
spitlogic said 1228 days ago (July 16th, 2006)
No offense...
None taken. It was a purely experimental thing for me. In the long run I think I
would like to incorporate something like it into some other music that i create
to enhance it. I will however give it another shot in another form. Stay tuned...
