Description:
This is one I did sometime last year right around the time I discovered Swanny's "Bitsies Pieces". His music is ideal for soloists because he has a tendency to leave enough space to stretch out, and the backrounds just plain sound good. Since he hasn't posted it, I figured I might as well.

I didn't do any soloing on this song besides coming up with the head, but given the mellow nature of it, I thought it would be better served with only a melody and light embellishments anyhow.

Lyrics:
N/A

Hardware:
I did this one on my G4 Mac Mini. At the time, I used my Griffin iMic and my Shure SM57. My sax is a Selmer Mark VI alto (52000 series I think), and a Beechler 8 mouthpiece and VanDoren Java 2 1/2 reeds.

Software:
Just GarageBand 2

Great feel, nice sound, espesh that sweet, sweet sax.

I think you made a wise decision not to use the bed as a vehicle for
soloing over, but rather just sticking with the song concept, and the fact
that the piece is short gives that more credence.

Really nice piece of music. Congrats...

If I have a complaint it's that it's over too soon.

Great work!

Very stylish and professional. Once again, want to hear a solo, which would tilt this piece more from smooth towards jazz...;)

Thank you so much. :-)

Swanny really gets big kudos for his open ended music... and it would be NICE if he would start creating MORE STUFF for collaborative works...

;-)

the sax pocket &mdash 07/05/06 - 07:03:06 AM
I love when a sax player sits the horn in the groove and propells the
feel... you turn your sax into a rythem instrument while still adding the
frosting... great work
