Description:
Yes, it's a soprano sax, but please, no comparisons to Kenny G... I don't even listen to the man. :D

Got the background light rain sound from freesound's inchadney.

I'd really wanted to expand on this one, but right now I'm having a bad case of musician's block. If anyone has ideas for a collab over this, I'm open to ideas.

Lyrics:

Hardware:
Mac Mini Core Duo, Griffin iMic, Shure PGX1 wireless, Yamaha YAS-62 soprano sax

Software:
Garageband 3

*grin* Heck, Trane's an impossible act to follow, and I'm not even gonna try. I bow to one the true great masters of jazz.

... and thanks, man. That's much appreciated. :-D

Like the sound, very solid for a soprano. The tune needs a long and romantic solo, I think :{)

Thanks, man. I'd really like to expand on this as well with a solo or something.

You ever get a musician's block because you don't know where to go with a tune? After doing the melody, I'm sort of like, "well, now what?"... and I don't have the keyboard chops to really do anything signficant to add chords or take it to another level. I think that's why I don't usually do my own stuff... for the most part, it's easier for me to take a tune that someone's already created to play over.

I do, of course. What helps me then is to record several takes and leave them to sit for a while, may be a day or two, then listen to what is recorded. Often the sound a lot better after sinking in, or at least you might get a clearer idea of where to take the tune...

I just entered this song into my itunes library and the song fell right next
to paul winter. Perfect.
I like the modern groove with the chanty melody. The sax tone is superb.
Thanx
