Description
Okay, so I put my son's exuberance to good work. Inspired by Montreal artist Akufen (thus the name), I pieced together a fun beat from samples of the lil guy. I plan to do more with it, but check this out and maybe use it as a loop yourself.

what can i say
it gets better as it goes along.

mind that putting the master volume too high can result
in distortion and i think there is some in the bass.

Thanks for the tip. I've gotta invest in some better headphones or monitors.
Which should I look into first?

Oh, I also cleaned up some room noise with the Gate, and added a thumpy
bass and a chicky-chicky shaker. Lots to learn...and damn fun.

The best and favorite headphones I've ever used are AKGs. Also good are
Sennheiser. Both are so comfortable you can wear them all day (which I
have). Denon have good response, too, but unless they are big enough, they
can make your ears hurt after a while. I like the kind of headphones that
cover your entire ear in a paddled cup. Oh, and by the way, this track is
totally cool. Yes, please explore this piece. You have a great track started.

Go for a good pair of cans. The kids have to sleep. The monitors are
outloud, remember?

i dont know whats funnier
the samples of your son...or when youre wife just has enough and yells at you two!

i love this one as much as the last few!

my friend says, 'the beat is phat yo!'
they like how you build the song.

and so do i!!!!!!!!

you still owe me an oxygen machine.

Many thanks...I have to give Akufen much credit (check out the album "My
Way"). Similar thing where it starts off like "What the..." but then it starts to
click, and then the beat gets phat, etc.

Oxygen tank, eh? I'll get to work on it.

No offence taken at all. The first two songs were quick one-off
flings
with GB. Yeah, this one I put a little more work into. I appreciate the
encouragement! ...and the feedback!

Love It
This concept could be developed into something truly
great. Not that it isn't finished, but I think that you could
take it even further. Check out the song "Tidepools" by
Afro Mystic, if you don't know it already. Cool stuff.

Very silly! Very cute!

Very strange!
Funny how you can get to know a person just through music. Yes, I've been told that alot (that I'm strange). And I agree whole-heartedly. But it's a good strange.

I do have a serious side though. We'll see if it creeps into my work...

Thanks so much for the compliment!

Very fresh !
The mixing of these voices is funny and
dynamic. Good work, with a lot of humour
as well. It's refreshing !

Wow!
That's pretty much all i have to say about this. How you
ever figured you could make some child noises and put
them into something like that is actually very inspiring to
me. Downloaded!!

innovative!
You have a great way of combining sounds "out of
nowhere" into a cohesive, entertaining whole. I agree that
you could take this concept a lot farther with great
success.

Your son, the rap star....he's got a groove goin' for sure!
(thanks to dad)

Thanks!

I'll let him know he has a future. The funny thing is that he now tries to
perform this song live. You can imagine how fun this is.

I do intend on making a larger piece out of this. I'm thinking about how, but
maybe thats the problem--I do much better when I just do it. Thanks again
for the comment.

track! It really kicks! I'm amazed... and it's so much fun...

Thanks for posting it.... I'm letting my son hear it in the morning... I think
he's going to love it, too...

Before I came to MacJams...
Woohoo! Glad to see my old track is still reaching new listeners. I have forever
meant to turn this into a greater work, and I still struggle with how to do it
(nearly 2 years later). So, just happy that its still alive in the world. Thanks for
the comment!
