Description
I wrote this song while camping on the Yuba river in California. I was very poor in one of the world's richest economies. Thus this song ensued.

Lyrics
It's raining its pouring
The water is roaring
The wind in the morning's
Been blowin for days
Me neath the wood
I'd go in if I could
You know that I would
But it's money to stay
Them with their riches
No holes and no stitches
Always have bitches
About what they pay
Me with my freedom
I'd rather just leave em
But they have the deed on
The land where I say
(c)
I'll watch the river run and deliver
All of my dreams to drift on the sea
Put out the fire and take my desire
Go down the road no it won't leave me be
The world has its seasons
No care who its pleasin
And I have no rhyme
Or no reason to stay
The roads that they pave
With the money they crave
They cover the grave
Of a road far away
I'd have my own land
And work with my own hands
A rock where I stand
Till the end of my days
But me being gypsy
And singing for tips
The words from my lips
Are worth more than they say
The water is roaring
The wind in the morning's
Been blowin for days
Me neath the wood
I'd go in if I could
You know that I would
But it's money to stay
Them with their riches
No holes and no stitches
Always have bitches
About what they pay
Me with my freedom
I'd rather just leave em
But they have the deed on
The land where I say
(c)
I'll watch the river run and deliver
All of my dreams to drift on the sea
Put out the fire and take my desire
Go down the road no it won't leave me be
The world has its seasons
No care who its pleasin
And I have no rhyme
Or no reason to stay
