Description:
Chikoppi and I collaborated on this original song composed by him, sharing vocals and I added some goodies to the musical break. Then, Chikoppi polished it off with some remixing of the tracks. Hope ya like it as much as we do. We had alot of fun collaborating on it.

Lyrics:
Now you say you take away the broken filthy part of me. Every stitch you pull seems to make wider hole. Grit your teeth bite the threads you see. | I can't remember the place, or the time, or the day you wore me down. But if I think back I still savor the taste of the blood and the mud I'll turn around. | Little cuts bleed. I watched you plant the seed. Never felt my hunger slip away. Little cuts bleed. Enough for what you need. Time to turn and bite the mouth that feeds. | Everything you want for me to do denies lust my thrust my energy. Time to place some blame gonna chew through this chain. Run wild run far recapture me. | I know you, know what you like to do, know just how far you dare to reach. Now you'll see, you don't know me. Gonna take what comes, gonna make it come. || Turn away there's nothing left to say, won't pay to play with you again. Can't conquer my soul, its too big to swallow whole. Strip down, let the hunt begin.

Cool collab, dudes! I can isolate every element without
interference from another! Very well done!

A small vocal suggestion &mdash 06/19/04 - 08:23:52 AM
I enjoyed overall polish of this piece, and some good
vocals to boot. The style is well done and the vocals are
in tune, and fit the song nicely.

One suggestion: In the first verse, the word "wider" kind of
sticks out - like it's sung with a East-West kind of shape,
so it sounds like "wye-der". If you shaped it a little toward
"wah-der" (but not that extreme - experiment), it would
be less jarring. Of course, it could just be me, the voice
teacher.

Nice job.

A small vocal suggestion &mdash 06/19/04 - 02:21:44 PM
Oh, how you speak the truth. Here's what was killin' me. "Wah-der" hole
kept sounding like "Water Hole" so I just pushed it out to "Wye-Der"

Great concept and follow thru &mdash 06/20/04 - 01:41:09 AM
All the way to the last sound of that blade sliding against
metal, this piece mines a single idea with a very cool
tension between complexity and minimalist sensibilities.
and great lyrics. If I'd change anything it would be to cut
4 or all 8 measures after the "solo" instrumental section,
cuz, for me, it took too long for the singing to come back
in. Great track. 8-7-8-7.

Very very NIN. &mdash 08/11/04 - 09:56:29 AM
I like this song. But it strikes me as a bit too much of
attempt to sound like The Perfect Drug or Ruiner. Maybe
that's a good thing.

I'm really not sure how to feel about it. It's not very
creative, but it's very good.

I'm confused.

Very very NIN. &mdash 08/21/04 - 04:22:20 AM
I have to reply to this statement, because it completely reflects how I've
grown to feel about this song myself. Heh! Basically, it's the first
collaboration chikoppi and I did and has loads of room for exploration
and improvement. However, I do like that it's here as it represents our
starting point for Tense... disconnected, a tad messy, but a valiant effort,
heh!

NIN &mdash 09/05/04 - 07:17:11 PM
Did I mention I'd buy this album? This has a raw, demo NIN sound. I have tons of NIN stuff, both legit and bootleg, and you fit right in. Another well executed tune.

Latency problems &mdash 09/14/04 - 06:50:39 AM
I think this is a great piece. The only thing I noticed right
from the beginning are small latency issues with the cut
off distorted rythm guitar you used for the intro and the
main parts of the song. I think the cut off effect is great,
especially with the softened bell-reverb kind of sound as a
transition. Great contrast! It would need a little bit of
tweaking to work out the timing issues with the cut off
frequencies.

Revisit &mdash 02/23/05 - 04:47:21 AM
Since you posted the overwhelming Orange I thought it
would be good to start at the beginning of the Tense
project.

This song is good, but what's really impressive is how the
collab partnership you guys have has evolved into
something pretty spectacular. Awesome project here,
guys.
