Description:
This song is about making promises that you can't necessarily keep and reaching the point when, even though you've been trying to convince yourself otherwise, you realise that you've reached the end...

Lyrics:
I've stayed here far too long again.
This drink's gone right through to my head.
Filling me up. Bringing me down.
Making me not care if there's anyone else around.

You said you'd leave me gently.
Let it slip through your fingers and you'd be gone
into the kind of darkness that binds me,
to the places were I don't belong.

I think it's time for me to leave.
This isn't how it's meant to be.
The hour's getting late.
The night's getting long.
I've wasted my day waiting for a call that'll never come.

You said you'd leave me gently.
Let it slip through your fingers and you'd be gone
into the kind of darkness that binds me,
to the places were I don't belong.

Holding onto my days like they're wasting away.
What I'm trying to say, is there anyone?
Who can take me away when things get in my way
or hear me when I say where I'm coming from.

Holding onto my days like they're wasting away.
What I'm trying to say, is there anyone?
Who can take me away when things get in my way
or hear me when I say where I'm coming from.

You said you'd leave me gently.
Let it slip through your fingers and you'd be gone
into the kind of darkness that binds me,
to the places were I don't belong.

You said you'd leave me gently.
Let it slip through your fingers and you'd be gone
into the kind of darkness that binds me,
to the places were I don't belong.

full of emotion &mdash 06/05/06 - 01:01:15 PM
A voice that really fits this kind of song (great singing BTW!). Nice chord progression and I really love the sound of the folk guitar. On the other side, I have the feeling a simple and sober bass track and some percussion or drums could somehow add to the song, and reinforce the overall tension of the track. Anyhow, this is a song full of emotion that is brought splendidly.

This is one of the better songs I%u2019ve heard here in a while. Excellently performed. I think maybe the harder guitar strumming overpoweras the vocals. Just a superb song all the way around.

That this song has such little exposure.

I'm a huge fan. HUGE! I think you are so talented and underexposed. I
hope you're sending your music out into the "real" world, and not just
letting us MJ'ers hog all your musical goodness!

Thanks for another good one for my music collection!

I'm sorry &mdash 01/07/07 - 10:59:05 PM
that you fell off my radar... won't happen again... i was going through my fav'd song for the year... and I realized i had'nt followed up on further posts by yourself... i agree with Stacy... you are under exposed... you have a casual yet masterful way with a song... and the song carries you... your not singing into the top mikes or playing the best guitars... and I think anybody with a lick of sence would trade there equipment for your material... without good material we are just polishing turds with this equipment...

bravo... I bow to your emotional and tender portrait here
