i might do this real soon with a full band.
and yes, i've decided to use my home rig for just one track demos. i'm not
one for fiddling with dials - i just want to play. i'm going into a studio soon
with a band and engineer and whatnot, so i figured i don't have to bother
much about that.

Very nice and mellow song here. I understand that this is a demo, so I'm
trying to listen to how things could sound eventually... and what I'd want
to make sure is that you have some nice crisp diction when you do record
this for real. I say this because my first listen through, I sorta just
thought you were 'Oooh-ing' all the way through until I noticed the lyrics
you had posted. Just make sure you can hear the lyrics properly and
theres a decent distinction between your 'oohs' and your words and I
think this'll turn out quite nicely. [ Reply to This ]

thanks... yeah, i typically need to work on diction. and this was very new when i
recorded it. it's hard to tell because i know the words, i can hear them.
we'll see how it turns out... i might record this with the band. although, i just
really wrote it as a personal thing.

I agree with the composer regarding diction, because the same thing
happened to me -- I was chatting with you and didn't realize there
were lyrics.
Other than that, though, some wonderful guitar playing that mirrored
the emotions very nicely. I wouldn't mind you coming out of falsetto at
some point, to add some variation to the vocals, but that isn't to take

yes, diction has always been my downfall. even in everyday speech. i'm
working on it!
and yes, when i redo this, it won't be so much in falsetto. although my voice
is in no shape to sing a high B otherwise. but yeah, i had been working on it
all day and i thought the neighbors must be going up the walls, so i backed
off a bit...

I would have liked more words my this song creates a mood just with the
melody - thus the title I guess.
It's like you took a private moment of reflection and genuine joy and

simplicity is what i'm aiming for. i hope it worked anyway.
funny that you thought of it as a moment of joy because it kind of is, but i feel
like most people would hear a sad song in this one. maybe it's the lyrics.

I like the fact that you can tell that you are really stretching for this one. It brings out the emotion and the depth of the song. A lot of interesting dynamics here. This isn't really the kind of music that I usually listen to, but I can get behind the raw energy. That's what we're here for, right?!?
