Lyrics:
Waltz For JodieThe movie poster on the white wall
started coming off
Green tinted Jodie Foster in the poster
gives me a look disapprovingly
Gentle cool breeze is coming through the window
and it's waving the poster as if calling me
Memories are dancing about happily
riding the breeze
I read your mail you sent me yesterday again
It says you are quitting the job because you
want to have a baby
Seems you are really becoming an adult woman, girl
The poster is swinging to the breeze
as if saying goodbye to our loud 'n hyper days
Memories are dancing about happily
riding the breeze
Gentle cool breeze is coming through the window
and it's waving the poster as if calling me
Memories are dancing about happily
riding the breeze

This sounds really smooth and laid-back.
The very nice piano and good vocals are what make this a treat to listen
to. My only issue with this are that at times it sounds like the percussion
isn't in sync with the piano, which was a tiny bit distracting. Maybe it's
just my ears that are fooling me, but like I said, it distracted me - just a
tiny bit.
Very nice collaboration, though - and big kudos to you both!

hiya! thank you very much for your comment!
yes, i too thought that the rhythm secion and piano sometimes did not
synch in this. i'll re-record the percussion, i think.
I just listened to the other version and I must say that I like this one better
- the quiter interpretation fits the lyrics better I think - plus it's pleasant
to listen something less electronic.
Wonderful singing and playing, guys.
And I appreciate you creating and uploading both versions of the song,
rather than throwing one away.

hi Mungo. Thanks for your comment! a lot of people seem to like this one
better like yourself. i wrote this song about my female mate who has very
cheerful and funny character. so i didnt want it to be too mellow. hence the
more rocky version. but after kcsaito recommended me to try this waltz
version too, this one too does sound right to me also.

What a wonderful switch, and what a very pleasant composition. Solid
progression, combining jazz, pop and R&B in a live cabaret feel. The track
does have a demo feel, with some errant notes in the first sections, timing
issues with a few of the piano passages and transitions (especially in the
first third), and vocal pitch things throughout, all of which stand out in my
ears when using this genre. Really fine, delicate and sweet piano solo
section. Tightening up these things would result in a beautiful track that
would be a fantastic change of pace on your upcoming album. And, again,
illustrative, contemporary, accessible, honest and poetic lyrics. Nice.

hi tobin!! thank you very much for your comment!
yes. actually both piano and vocals are taken from the very first take.
i guess that gave the demo feel to it... me and kc will play this song
in the coming acoustic concert. so a lot of practice. we shall record
this song after the gig, so that everything should be tightened up by then?
