Shes runnin' round with the fancy boysshe never tired of their fancy toys
to lead her on means to question why
the fancy boys they'll give it another try
another try
Easy come it's easy go
the fancy boys like the show show show
the kind of fiend that gloats lusts and lies
the fancy boys grow wings grow wings and fly.......hello goodbye
He forced in he forced in don't cry baby
your hands pinned your hands pinned
you won't win oh oh oh oh it's Candice
Candice oh oh oh
So when fancy comes fancy goes fancy
comes....... goes
the fancy boys give it another try

the production and the playing, very tight. horns intro a nice touch. I like the bright rhythm git -- like john fuscante (sp?) of red hot chili peppers (you might like his solo album, a very spare, synchopated thing)... long intro a bonus! love the soundscape aspect of it, and the way the notes hang for seconds, good for the overall mood of the thing. good clear vocals. overall a strong effort, i look for over things by you.
Godchaser
Thanks ray for those kind words-I'm not sure if this is a work in progress or if
it's done-I appreciate the feedback-blessings to you!
-Godchaser
The guitars are great! Love the intro. The lyrics are great-nice job on
those. Your vocals are nice- you've got an excellent voice!
Godchaser
Thanks Mikey_d Your very kind-as always I appreciate your comments & as
well always enjoy your Macofferings-blessings to you & yours!

brewsta
Great vocal and guitar talent. Lots of great elements - wish I had the same production skill. I like the lyrics - very suggestive yet open to interpretation. I was a little thrown off by the "Please Please Me" organ riff at the top. Maybe I'm too conventional, but I would have liked some kind of hook chorus, needed to gel the disparate elements of the song more.
Godchaser
Thanks brewsta for those very, very kind words-Yes I am very 'unconventional'
when it comes to music making-whatever comes out..thats what it is-working
in a constant state of swoon-It's a spiritual sorta' thing!
The 'Please Please Me' injections are sorta' my way of exposing the 'unseen'
truths behind songs like that that paint a picture of such behavior as normal
and exceptable-the flipside is a reality not often spoke about let alone sung
about ie;date rape,come on,come on,come,on,please,please me oh yah like I
please you,yada,yada,yada-Hope that doesn't ruin it for ya'-thanks again &
god bless!
-Godchaser
Hectorious
I dig it a lot. Nice intro very tasteful guitar parts.
You have a little Ozzy in the voice. I added it to my fav's.
Godchaser
Thank you for your encouraging words-'Ozzy' in voice only!
-Godchaser
Boris the Bull
first off, thank you for your kind feedback!
second, this one got me from the first notes. it's got that mysterious
buildup that you creep into slowly, like an ugly bar.
at moments, there's a healthy Pink Floyd feel there for me, but only in
mood, perhaps. i enjoy everything about this piece. very well done and
the vocals are fabulous! thank you!!!
Godchaser
Thank you Boris for your musical contributions & your humbling remarks.
-Godchaser
ktb
and innovative. I like the assemblege of sounds, synths, guitar,
percussion (esp the tympani like rolls!) and of course your vocal work.
Good production and mix, its got a very cool feel, and sounds excellent
even on my little imac speakers. The progression is also interesting,
defies the tradiitonal ABA structure you hear so often.
Godchaser
I am very humbled by your words-Thank you karmatoburn-I am without
another word to say-humbled!
-Godchaser
morgenmusician
Makes me think of the guitarwork of the late great Jeff Buckley. and some floyd - just not pink maybe.
Really - I'm impressed, the musical "painting" (boys grow wings and fly) ... And a subject matter that often ends up sounding strangely cheezy. Not here...
Love the intro! And i am amazed by the production value. As i always tell people (ya- ich bin ein smartass) - there is something that those of us that started with rewinding tape on 4-tracks had to learn about sparse but effective arranging and production, that is soo hard to focus on when you play even in garageband with all the options, instruments and FX. Maybe go back to some of the intro as an outro?
....blessed by one chasing GOD...
Godchaser
I say wow-jeff B. was the best-that is far to high a compliment-your kind
words are to much-thank you for your extremely kind and humbling words
God bless you,
-Godchaser
branchgraft
you've done a lot with this since I first heard it.. mighty fine...
Godchaser
Thank you very much.
Joe Brady
I really like that lead and harmony vocal; great voice. The melody line really draws you in. The subject matter a bit more serious than at first suspected, required another listen. A fine production throughout, sounds great here.
Godchaser
Thank you joe for those kind words & for sharing your God given talents with the rest of us.Blessings!

8piscean8
Excellent nice brooding song. I hear some Alice N' Chains in there... nice. Nice production. I wasn't too crazy about the pick scraping noise though. I'll have to check out some more of your stuff.
Godchaser
I never thanked you for your kind comments, pick scrapings or not, your taking the time to comment is appreciated.
Blessings,
estellie
great emotion here. I love the sounds you've created. And the emotion your voice carries and shares with the instrumentals is amazing.
The thing that 8piscean8 calls "pick scraping" (took me half a second to realize it was a part of the song and not my tummy rumbling : ) well, I like the tension it creates and the sad implications of what that sound might be in the context of your lyrics.
Godchaser
estellie you are to kind. You are the only one to correctly comment about the 'pick scraping'and their intended purpose - strickly for tension's sake considering the context of the song - thanks for listening in and commenting - and please (rumble rumble)get something to eat!

five_extra_arms

sweet guitar and the vocals at times reminded me of cornell on the temple of the dog album. I dig it!
Godchaser
large compliment, aka; Chris Cornell - I too like his vocal work - thanks for the kind, kind words & I am glad you enjoyed the tune.

Thanks for visiting my song and commenting. It made me curious about your music. This is a great track. Only one comment (and it is a matter of taste): I expected that there would be a big build in the middle with the big drums coming in and a big solo from your great guitar playing. It didn't happen that way. I don't know if I was dissapointed or pleased that you did not write the song in that straightforward and predictable manner
Post some more stuff!!!! You have a way with lyrics and playing that I'd like to hear more of.
Godchaser
for your very gracious comments - true the only buildup to be found is in the intro - intitally I toyed with the idea of stretching the song a bit by adding more to it midway, but as per usual what I put down is pretty much the way it stays - for better or worse rewrites are as rare as hen's teeth with me!
Blessings,
- Godchaser

think that maybe the intro would be a good solo right after the line "hello, goodbye" the change of rythym and tempo there would be interesting and would reinforce the next lyric. Just a thought.
there was a thing I did not like about this.
The story..is timeless, the tune a pleasure.
Godchaser
glad you stopped by for a listen - thank you for your kind words,

dajama
production. I love the guitar sounds. Your vocal is strong, and you sing with real feeling. The intro is long, but I think it works. I would agree with the previous commenter who suggested the intro might also be a good outro, maybe on a long fadeout? But this is just a suggestion. This is a powerful song - very well put together and performed. Nice work. Peace.
Godchaser
for your comments & the original music you write & share w/ the rest of us - I really look forward to listening to more of your music. Blessings,
- Godchaser

It is hard to add to all these articulate comments. But this song does have great structure and subject matter...I'm impressed with what you have crafted...
Godchaser
thanks for taking the time to comment - I too have enjoyed what I have heard from you and when time allows will check out some more.

lavalamp
Nice build up. Think you have a knack for production. Was impressed with your vocals.
Outstanding guitar work and very nice chord progressions. Like that it's loop-free, too.
Let's start over.

by and for your kind words - Blessings,
- Godchaser
The guitars are great - just the right touch of layering and deft, straightforward playing that I don't hear very much anymore. Too many guitarists use the song to underscore their playing, not the other way around.
And your vocals... wow, your voice give me goosebumps, and it moves in perfect mood with the guitars. This one's a keeper - thank you!
Godchaser
blush throwing around all those lofty compliments - I am humbled by your words to say the least - just a hack musician that no more then 'plays' around w/ all this from time to time but certainly appreciates the time people take to listen & respond.
Blessings,
- Godchaser
PS;still struggling with the Chocolate Rabbits in me head!!

Godchaser
How ever did you stumble upon me? I have seen your comments on others material and have yet to listen to what you've been doing, but will do so soon. Thanks for your visit and comments.
Blessings,
smokey bacon jnr
You have a very tight groove going on here - but I especially like the vocals which are looser, just hanging off the beat, very bluesy in a seventies meets grunge kind of way. I like the space you manage to put in between the phrasing. Good stuff!!
Godchaser
for your kind words. The seventies certainly were an influence on me,musically,physically,mentally,etc.etc.The list was at one time endless! Thanks for stopping by and taking the time to comment.I'll be sure and check you out also.
Blessings,

Godchaser
Thank you Rob for giving a listen and for taking the time to comment.Floyd and ARS certainly were among the long list of my personal favs from way back when.

Exquisite performance, lean n' mean n' digging your scene. Reminiscent of Steely Dan. Vibe is so coool, when you sing in the high register you up the ante and all bets are off. Whatever that means ( I'm suffering from comment fatigue hence the obliqueness)
Big up God - avoir de la chance.
Godchaser
for taking a moment to comment with such kind and colorful words!

Yeah, I can totally hear early floyd in this. Like animals.
This is a tight song. The intro sets the mood, the vocals are gorgeous.
To me it's like Floyd meets Alice and Chains. (vocals)
Godchaser
Those are some kind comparisons.Glad you stopped by and gave me a listen.

to all of the positive comments the others have made. Inspired creation here Daniel. Keep well,

Godchaser
The intro was written in the Fall of 05 and the rest was one of the few things I had written some 20 plus years ago and held onto.I introduced them to one another in 06 and 'bang'..............they made music! Thanks again for listening in.
Blessings,
MacFerret
Great intro, and then a remarkable change of tempo and mood. The vocal harmonies are exceptional. This is on a different plane to what I usually listen to and comment on, and I seem to have run out of words.
Godchaser
stopped by to listen and comment.I just heard you for the first time today I believe and was glad I did.Good stuff! Thanks for visiting and if anything else should come to mind chances are.......I'll be here!

Godchaser
Now you're starting to scare me.Is davisamerica being represented by more than one person because someone using your identity had already commented on this post back in October? It's all good and I am deeply humbled by your kind words on all my posts, just wondering if you need to get away for a while and 'rest'!Ha-ha!! Thanks again my generous friend.

All the best to you.
Godchaser
Gald you stopped by and liked what you heard.Look forward to hearing more from you.
Scott Carmichael
I really love the guitar work... In the long intro... you've already told the whole story, before a note has been sung... and with such gravity... who can know how much these wagers that we make are really going to cost... really superb...
along with perfect guitar work, is such a commitment to a vocal... the same kind of commitment an actor has to make... theatrical
Godchaser
I was very surprised to see you commenting on this old post of mine. You must be bored!Seriously,I so respect your creative gifts Scott and your sharing of them.I am very, very humbled by your always supportive and charitable words regarding my little musings.Humbled to say the least.

Aah, dynamics and subtlety - two sides of a coin that hold my interest here. Here you stand that coin on its edge; every few bars, some small nugget recaptures my attention. Your voice is dead-on pitch and the harmonies are great. Best of all, you've got a smart melody leading the way so the music supports the song. Too often in my own experience, I'm just shouting and holding on for dear life instead of really owning it. You rock, chaser.
Godchaser
You have a knack with the guitar and with the word.Your comments are very very kind.If I do if fact rock it is only because I stand on the 'Rock'!Again many thanks.
Daniel

You got me friend. I am usually pretty fussy about what I download into my Itunes but you are 2 for 2 mate and I'm goin in for another. You really have your own signature brother and I would love to know how you develop those vocal tracks they are some of the best I have ever heard production and talent wise.
Godchaser
I'm not sure what you mean by developing the vocal work on this track. What you hear is my voice doubled off and on and a touch of reverb and the use of a quality mic and interface unit. Thanks again for your lofty compliments.
Daniel

story telling. It's obviously well played and well sung. It's got it's own style which is one of the hardest things to do in music. Great job!
Godchaser
I am glad you stopped by,liked what you heard and took a moment to comment.Much appreciated.
God bless,

too many comments to read through, but i didnt see any DEFTONES or TOOL comparisons. This to me was DEFTONES making sweet love to TOOL and this lil baby popped out! Its a lot more laid back and easy going though compared to them, but the sound is totally deftones. Your vocals remind me more of alice n chains and weiland of STP mixed together. COOL SHIT, you brought me back the early 90's when i was skateboarding listening to grunge.
not sure if your familiar with them but this had a dinosaur Jr. feel to it as well.
Godchaser
Lot's of very generous comparisons.Glad you enjoyed the post.
