Description
Well, this is sort of a semi-authorized version of Cydniko's 'At 4:20'. Back in October of '05 I heard the original, was quite impressed, and suggested in my comment that Cydniko solicit some guitar work from the likes of Ziti or McBoy as I thought the tune was very good but crying out for some guitar. Nothing ever came of that suggestion. A few months ago I was looking for some inspiration and happened across 'At 4:20' and took a swing at it myself. What you'll hear is the result. Is it a collaboration? Only in the 'drive-by' sense. I had contacted Cydniko about using his tune and he wasn't opposed but he felt that the macjams audience deserved something more than a simple rehash of something he had already posted. Personally, I think the recipe was nearly perfect as it was but it just needed a little extra something. If you like what you hear, well 99% of the credit would be attributed to Cydniko. If you don't like what you hear, well then I'm the one that's to blame. Hopefully, you'll enjoy the outcome.

Nice shredding, AquilA! A well executed drive-by. The fast stuff smokes, and the slower notes are drawn very well. Maybe a wetter sound for the guitar would be cool... lots of reverb or even delay to fit it into Dion's more spacious moments in the groove. But that's my spacy aesthetic speaking. You should lay down some guitar on some of the other open MacJams.

Thanks PV. Yeah, you're probably right on with that aesthetic comment. I
should have sent it to you for the mix! Thanks for checking it out.

But
I've been very excited that you did this, 'Sledge' - And as well, I did like
what you did here, -- of course, he says... - This added that extra
dimension that this tune was missing - I love your playing mister - And
I'm still excited to do the other version of this - I think that both of
them do great favors to this tune - Thanks for being the one who
finally posted that other version - Cyd

But
Thanks Cyd. It was truly my pleasure to work on this. 'At 4:20' has such allure
and I'm lucky to put my own twist on it. I'm glad you like this and I look forward
to providing any contribution you might need for the next version.

High Gear
You took sections of the original and pushed them to a higher gear
and you're right that Cyd's backing is a great bed for some guitar to be
added.
