the artwork....the sound of the production reminds me of Steve
Earle....Really like how the vocals are recorded....this is a good song and
the way it's recorded is perfect for this tune. Perfect choice of instruments
and arrangement....we so have to go drinking together....well
performed....great work Jie....Peace....Ian

The silent "H" is for "Hella Good!" &mdash 06/14/06 - 10:01:29 PM
Never quite know what you'll get in the "other" category. This is just an
all-around nice song. The flute (or Irish whistle?) is a gem in this piece
as is the (what I'm guessing is) the accordian. Your singing is terrific.
Your voice is confident and natural, perfect for this modern-folksy
style. The lyrics are very well written. You might consider including
them in the song description. I think this is a great song, but sort of
wish the chorus was a bit "hookier." The verse sort of slides right into
it. With more of a footprint for the chorus this would definitely be one
of those rousing sing-alongs that drags whole crowds to their feet!

Past is present &mdash 06/21/06 - 12:00:22 PM
Another from what past? The song has a great sense of presence both
in instrumentation and singing. Love that flute/penny whistle and
accordion. Combines Irish-Folk and Country-Rock elements. It almost
begs for additional voices - a choral treatment as it progresses.

St.Andrew ... &mdash 06/29/06 - 10:36:03 PM
.. would be proud of this use of the Scottish flag .. good one jie. Like
rschletty I particularily liked the accordian/squeeze box and penny
whistly bits, could come up a bit .. especially in the instrumental break
bit.. excellent work on the vocals on this.

I can agree that it needs something to make the chorus stand-out
more ..
I also thought the little bass line shift was going to do a "man who sold
the world" bit for a minute ..

from "Feeling is the greatest .." you could consider some harmonies to
boost up this section ...
