This has lots of energy. The bottom end in the first half is pretty
impressive. There's also very little wrong with the guitar playing in the
second half. Plenty of processing and still intelligible. Cool.

Thanks Vic, Drop D tuning really helps that bottom end.

Full Throttle &mdash 06/18/06 - 10:39:55 AM
Big bad bass line up front with a nice change up in the middle. Wicked
lead playing but personally I'd like to hear it a little louder. It's too nice to
let it get lost in the mix. The Monkey sounds good too. Downloading
now...

Thanks AquilA, Story of my life trying to get the lead guitar levels right. My
last post they were too loud so I tried to lower these a little.

microphones? why aren't you using some kind of computer recording/modeling interface, which can really enhance the sound quality? otherwise, awesome chops on the guitar

Yeah microphones, remember those? Actually I just ordered Guitar Rig 2. I
started with a Johnson J-Station which is similar to a POD, switched to the
Marshall, switched to Logic's Guitar Amp, switched back to the Marshall. Now
let's try Guitar Rig. I don't know about the lead guitar sounds yet but the
rhythm guitar sounds from Guitar Rig are killer.

yeah, I remember microphones, and I also remember that they are much more difficult to set up to get that crisp, crunchy guitar sound compared to plugging the guitar directly into some audio interface for computer recording...anyway, I guess all of that is irrelevant since you are getting the Guitar Rig 2, which has the audio interface that I am referring to...very cool choice...looking forward to hearing a major difference in your future tunes

Yeah and now I can use the air conditioner without worrying about back
ground noise through the mics. Getting pretty hot up here in Ct. Thanks for
stopping by.

groove. Man, that bass kicks ass, and excellent guitar. Very diggable. I like that snap change into straight time, with a somewhat Primus style drum groove going on. I love the drums, except there's the occasional cymbal crash with no kick, which sounds a little thin (like in that killer ending fill, for example). Great stuff here, I really liked it.

Thanks for the tip, not being a drummer I don't even think about some of
those things, won't do that again.

i like having a z in my name. even if i had to make up the name to get
the z.

i think your z is the real thing, and judging by this track, it is a capital
Z.

what a fun instrumental....i will put this in the folder called "one hour
to go"...music to get that last fifty miles to fly by!!! a guitar lovers
feast. never crosses the line into indulgent excess...forward motion is
maintained right until the end...great track!

deeep bows

Mixing It Up &mdash 06/19/06 - 01:57:41 AM
Dude,
Like the Voodoo Chile Vibe going on. Got to say that the drums
and bass go well together but the guitar gets slightly lost in the mix
(shame coz you've got some nice licks in there). Instrumentals need to
have the guitar up there as it is the "main" vocal and I think you've
used slightly too much reverb and chorus/flanger. Roll off the effects
slightly and boost the guitar and you've a tune definately.

Although I enjoyed the first half better - it touched the psycho-tribal
spirit in me.
