Nice track.
Given your choice of software I take it you programmed all the sounds
and notes yourself? It all sounds great, and the individual riffs are fine.
It's just that it goes on a bit long, and what variation there is is kinda
limited.

Take for instance the beginning. You put down a rhythm of a couple of
synths. After 16 or so repetitions you introduce some variation, but
only by taking away the top voice. Another 16 repetitions, and there is
a variation of a couple of added notes. Not enough to keep me on the
edge of my seat, so to speak.

But the basic material sounds good, and the whole track has a solid
groove to it.

I have to disagree...
with Vic on this one. With my head so stuck on Kraftwerk, Afrika
Bambaataa and more recents like Alek Stark, this track touches the early
"Electro" sound so well. Everyone loves Kraftwerk, and yet they are the
kings of monotomus music. There is a reason "the robot" is a dance.

I don't know? I liked this track and all of it's monotomus moments. I just
wished you used more of your analog gear when doing these type of
tracks.

Much appreciated.
Thanks for the feedback guys! I appreciate the honest reactions and comments.
Vic, you are right, I did create all of the notes and drum patterns in Reason (no loops or templates).

funked up russian gears
U bumped my head with bleeps and old school synths. My brain is now like an electro spacecraft lost in an adidas shop. peace.

Nice!
The sounds in this are definitely bubbly and fun 80's bits, and I enjoyed listening. I'd say a little editing down and increasing variations between measures would make the song more exciting, but I definitely digg the groove here.

Now, off to grab a Shasta and play Space Invaders...

I have to admit, I recently joined the dark side, purchased a shuttle PC and started using mostly Ableton Live 6. I still have my Mac G4 laptop, I just use it a lot less now (due to a bad fall and broken LCD screen). I haven't posted much for a while... [see more]
