Description:
This is it, my defining track. I go by Holistik and this track sums up what I mean by that. The instrumental is completely original and no GarageBand loops are used. Notice there's not a single curse word in here. Hope this makes up for that last song.

Lyrics:

I don't lose, I just learn from what's happenin'
And you don't win when my words are attackin'
First to react when submersed into action
Introduction to the dirt that you'll nap in 4
Comin' out live, so you don't wanna battle wit'
I need a name (Holistik) That'll fit! (Ha!)
My fast wit' and synaptic transmission
Will snap your wack raps in half, now that's spittin'! 8
Like AOD, I get ready to burn, I'm never concerned
What's inside, let it emerge
And turn words to a surge of energy that'll hurt
When converted to current to burn through your damn shirt 12
That's for sure, man, woman and child
Who listen and get wild are addin' it to my style
It's addin' up to a pile, a tall one that is gettin' noticed
So sit back, enjoy the rap and let me focus

[Prechorus]
(Holistik!) Vivid and black at the same (Ha!)
(We've developed mental capacity over time)
(Just check it!) I told you I don't ever give up!
(My mission statement of rhymin' is find minds to crush) (What's up now?)

[Chorus]
L(Two words) R(Fight back) L(Like this?) R(Like that)
L(Two more) R(Tight rap) Lemme get the mic back
Years of practice, it appears the fact is
I'm back wit' a chance to make it clear what rap is

I'm a machine gun, lookin' for meat to feast on
You gun' be stunned, eager to feel your feet run
"He's done's" what your crews says, you get destroyed
Fried, chopped, smashed, and bashed, bent and toyed with
The noise is enormous, I'll rhyme 'til you forfeit
And send you my CD that'll arrive at your doorstep
At five in the mornin', you're woken by a knock
It's somethin' terrible, but you're hopin' that it's not 8
Cope with the shock of bein' attacked by me
You hoped that you're not but seein' me back finally
Underestimation of me could mean death
A real mess, to retreat would be best 12
And me stress? Unlikely to ever happen
Strategy is key, so fight me you better have one
I can't ever be defeated in this town
I'll watch you fall down from feelin' my fist pound

[Prechorus]

[Chorus]

You said no, but I said yes
Never backed down always tried my best
Now you listen close to the tracks I drop
I made it this far so I can't just stop
I beat these odds and I changed my fate
I raised my skill like I raised the bass
Well, some see me as a kid with a dream
But the rest call me Holistik

Thanks PV, hope the static wasn't too loud, I'm having alot of issues with
white noise.

I listened again and didn't notice the white noise. The high end of my hearing is shot, so someone with less abused ears should also weigh in, but it sure didn't seem like a problem to me.

somuthafuukinmagnificent this is :D &mdash 06/19/06 - 10:30:35 PM
......however I swear to god that the drum beat is a gb loop, DON'T LIE TO ME MAN, hahaha. But seriously, I swear to god I used the same loop when I made my first beat 8-) [By the way Carson, if you still have the song I'm thinking of delete it!! :P]. With that being said I'll eat my own words because I know this beat and the defining track you have put forth with it is your beat song to date. I also love the prechorus samples from "Enter Holistik", "Deadly Minds" and "Just Check It!". If you put those tracks on your album with this track it would tie in together quite nicely. Kudos to you my friend, your efforts will always prove valiant, don't stop the hip hop!

Saying yes &mdash 06/20/06 - 07:02:09 AM
Love your use of wit, your internal rhymes, the way you slot everything
together in the end, and the judicious use of melody. And I dig the upbeat
message all rolling out from your first line "I don't lose, I just learn from
what's happenin'" (even amidst the obligatory sense of street fighting you
always seem to include). You could actually make me start liking this
stuff. (When I lived in the Village [NYC], I used to go to 101s [its closed
now, a coffee bar took its place] and take in the rap jam every Tues nite,
funk-ladened rap improv, and was always blown away by what I heard
being created on the spot on stage. Recorded rap never came close to
this experience. But the intelligence of your tracks come close.)

Enjoyed it. &mdash 06/20/06 - 01:40:06 PM
Really good. In my speakers, the vocals are too loud, but it may just be
mine. Very nice and tight rhythm and it stayed very groove oriented
without losing the feel. The flow never gets disrupted by words that don't
fit, and that is the main thing. Very enjoyable.

Generally I Don't like Rap...But &mdash 06/26/06 - 02:31:40 PM
Hi Holistik:
I don't usually like RAP music...but I think from this work its obvious
that you are a very talented person and I like your way with words...The
piece also had a very polished profession sound and I like that your voice
is very clear and the words really pop (in a good way)...All 9's from
me...Keep up the great work...If your not a pro already, I difinitely can see
it in your future....Norman

EMINEM! &mdash 06/27/06 - 12:07:11 PM
You sound like eminem! I like it a lot. Sometimes the song seems to die... Try to improve the little moments without rhymes... maybe improving the mix.. I don't know.
Love the track! The chorus is very catchy and diferrent... Catch a hight vote

I must say that this is easily my favorite track of yours. Your production
and rhymes have improved significantly. Keep up the dream. Its nice to
hear somebody who is passionate about what they do here.
